HOW CAN A MODERATOR REMOVE ANOTHER MODERATORS POST

As I said in my PM reply to Tammy, I believe it unlikely a moderator edited out this post because Tammy's reply to it was left in. In the normal course that would come out too.

 

I do not know if a hacker is on the go, as Tammy suspects, but if there is, I would recommend that while usernames could remain unchanged, there may be a need for wholesale change to members passwords, or for the moderators at least.

I would like to clear matters up as to what happened last night

 

Just before I went to bed I got a PM complaining about vulgar posts on the General Pigeon Board.

 

I deleted one post of a lewd photograph that I thought had no place on this forum, I THEN put a post on the forum quite simply pointing out to the person responsible that I did not think this was good putting posts like this on the forum that could be read by Kids. I did not hide, I stated publically what I had done, maybe as some sort of warning for the future postings of this nature.  I noticed before I went to bed that there had been 2 answers. I then closed off Pigeon Basics and went to bed.  This morning when I got up I was alerted by PM that my post had vanised, a few weeks back I think maybe fifer may remember another post of mine was removed, I think it was he or maybe someone else who distrinctly mentioned to me that he/she has seen my post before it was removed for no apparent reason, something I posted on Friday was also removed.

 

I would not make a posting on something I feel strongly about them purposely remove it, If I removed it I must have got up in in the middle of the night, sleepwalking, turned my computer on removed the post and gone back to bed. somehow I think not.

To take matters one step further, I recived a PM on I think it was Friday from the person who posted the vulgar jokes requesting that I move Forum Fun to The Members only chit chat page, I answered that Pm with a Simple "WHY, I NEVER DID GET A REPLY.  I mentioned this to the other moderators on the moderators only board at the time.

 

To me this was a useless exercise, as if a Junior is a member he /she can read whatever is posted on the Members only section just the same as if it was posted on the General Pgeon Board

I'm unsure how many posts people are saying were deleted, but it logs all edits/deletes/etc and there were 3 deletions, on that topic, that day (in the morning) two were posts from Craig Speight, and the other was a post by Hyacinth. I'm going to wait until I hear back from the person who deleted these; as to see if it was just the wrong button pressed etc. I or they will no doubt let you and the forum know who it was in due course.

I'm at a loss where many of your assumptions have come from.

 

It was one of the moderators who is down in the logs to have removed the post. Inadvertently I am sure.

 

When you remove a post; part the address of the page is that post 520 is to be deleted from a topic. If that person inadvertently clicks the back, or refresh buttons on their browser the 520th post will be removed again - which would have been the 521st post before any were deleted.

 

There are no signs - whatsoever -  that anyone has hacked or attempted to hack into the forum at any time.

 

I despair at your frequent attempts to undermine both the moderators and myself on the forum. If you suspect there is a problem; would it not be wise to find out what actually happened from the horses mouth (myself) instead of trying to piece together information from several different sources, many which are absent of the facts also, and posting these 'thoughts'?

 

I hope that this finally puts this matter to bed; and we can once again get on with talking about pigeons.
