what do you call a mob flyer

Only need one ... but easier if it has one or two more to race home again on the heart, and the lungs etc. You know when your loft  is in condition when 0 or so drop together, and then if a few weeks later your not up with the winners, or winning anything, then your birds aren't good enough. Most I've ever sent is 12, nearly the whole loft lol. Most weeks 3/4 South and North each tops.

I think it is best to concentrate on your own birds and getting them right . i personally do not worry about the other flyers or how many they fly frankly its none of my buisness and i am to concerned in getting my own birds right.

agree with mike lycett, you dont need loads of birds to compete with the best,if there good enouth they will win against thousands,i won chelmsford 157 mls a few years ago only sending 1 widowhood hen to the race all pooled up,she came by herself ahead of 2000 plus birds, and got to say mike has put up some very fine performances over the years with his birds.

a mob flyer to me is someone who sends loads more than 20 - 30 but can't pick a pigeon out to win. They are the type of flyer who if they joined a six bird club would win nothing compared to their normal results due to the fact they haven't got the skill to pick a winning bird out. They have quality birds if they are a top man but they lack that skill of being able to select birds that are likely to win on the day. Not saying I have this skill wish I did as this is what seperates the true top man who has a small team from the top men who have good birds that win for them but they send lots and haven't really got the pigeon racing nous to be a true great.

The other type of mob flyer is the novice or poor club flyer that tends to not put any time into the birds or cull any that are not up to stratch and they tend to send huge numbers their feeble reasoning is oh the top mans sent 20 if I send 50 I'll beat them through quanity. I call this the Soviet approach after the tactial doctrine our soviet friends normally use in war. However they fail to realise how important quality is in pigeons and fail to realise that a well bred, well conditioned, properly moviated pigeon will spank the *expletive removed* off their inferior birds.
