Pompey Mick Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 Decided to visit the Spinnaker Tower since I'm help paying for and I wanted to get my residents discount. It wasn't a brillant day weatherwise but I managed a reasonable picture of Southsea Common where they liberate the birds.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 LOOKS TO QUITE BUILT UP ROUND ABOUT
madmaxlofts Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 no wonder its a bad race 4 us usually
Pompey Mick Posted January 5, 2007 Author Report Posted January 5, 2007 It's very big when you're on it Tammy, the birds have a 100% clear route when liberated. These photos are for any ex RN or Marines amongst us,No 1 pic is showing part of a redeveloped HMS Vernon with the Vulcan building in the centre being one of the few remaining Naval buildings, Also, Pic 2 for the ex-vets is Fort Blockhouse and the Diving Tower at HMS Dolphin Pic 3 is Pompey Dockyard (under threat of closure)and the Fareham lib site is at the centre of the picture at the top of the harbour (believe me) Pic 4 are my feet standing on the glass floor near the top of the Spinnaker Tower (it's a long way down)
Pompey Mick Posted January 5, 2007 Author Report Posted January 5, 2007 no wonder its a bad race 4 us usually I can assure you MadMaxlofts that the actual lib site is perfect, clear of any obstacles. If you look at the Portsmouth Lib site in the Forum list you will get a better view of how clear it actually is.

peterpau Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 Have to say Mick, your photo doesn't do the site justice. When I saw the site I thought how it looked perfect. and what a shame we don't go there. Why did you climb all those steps to take a photo of your feet were they sore.
