stew 75 Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 do these cat deterrent only work the way thay face or is it in an arc it seems a waste of money if cat can come up blind side and catch birds cheers stew 75
Guest Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Its an arc of painful sound. Suppose it will be loudest in front of the device, so where and how it is fixed matters.
edthekid Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 i got 3 out the book waste of money...lasted 6month £145 speakers get clogged
THE FIFER Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 the best one is the SCARE CROW, it connects to ur water tap, and covers an arc area also and lets a good burst of water go at anything that comes in its area, and goes from side to side so nothing gets away dry, i have cats both sides but they dont come in my garden, the only thing is u must have it so u get to the rear of it to turn off or u get soaked, get them in boddy and ridewoods book.
jimmy white Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 ive got one now ..was really bothered with cats ,but it definately works ,,up to now anyway ,,had it for about 4 months ,,,but no cat bother
THE FIFER Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 they dont like water jimmy, and it keeps them away, once they get a hose on them,
Guest Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 The good ones do i paid £ 180 on line its the ones they use at animal sanctuary,s now Regency lofts are doing them for a fraction of the price but it wont stop a deaf cat but i have two scotties as well
THE FIFER Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 i have a new one in my gadget book, its ultrasonic, makes a noise and lets off a flashing light to keep birds away,
billy_g Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 ive a good one its called a sh** szu bites the ass off them only 450 poundsworth of my last four years
pigeonscout Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 I crossed a shitszu with a bull dog and got a bullshit.
Ronnie Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 i had one in my last house it was a total waste of money. One day i actually had a cat scratching itself against it.The cats would sit on the shed so the dog couldnt get em and try and get in through the sputnicks .Tried everything from cat deterrents to lemon rind around the shed(Cats dont like the smell appantly). If it happens again i am just gonna make a cat trap and take em to the cattery and tell the owners where they are so they can pay to get em back.See if they like paying for not looking after the pets.
Guest shadow Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 I had one for ten years and they do work the first one got full of feather dust as i put main unit in the loft (big mistake) but the next one I got from regency and is still working today
Guest shadow Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 get a jack russel cnt beat them When does any dog spend 24/7 in the garden cats will still come in the garden when there is no danger about from a dog
Roland Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Eletric fence... 12 volt battery, but most can also work directly off a Battery Charger. One been... don't bother again.
