Guest Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 my next door neighbour has built a cot and is in the same club as i am. only thing is, he works a lot and he has 2 step children who ..lets say are little angels........hells angels lol(around 11-12yr),and already he has lost some stock birds through them letting them out. i can see this season they will be letting his race birds out without his knowledge when he,s in work and messing my y/bs up while i got them out...dragging them back onto the roof and so on. being the person i am ,i dont usually worry and think let it go see if sorts itself out,but i can see myself this year ,having a word in his ear if anything happens ; if u was in my situation wot would u suggest and do? ps...in past years they have been over my garden when im out and taken new born chicks and eggs from my cot....paul ??)
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 PUT YOUR BOOT UP THEIR *expletive removed* IF YOU CATCH THEM IN YOUR GARDEN

swilcox Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Ask them to come round on race days and watch your birds home, at least you will know where they are and you might encourage then to be serious fanciers in the future. Stuart
pigeonpete Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 sorry to hear that paul, would have had a "nice" word along time ago :-/ you need to go and see him, or it will play on your mind all the time, do you get on with them?
Guest Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 ;D make freinds with the guy and both of you invest in some good padlocks and dont tell the little so and sos where the keys are kept . he could let them pick 2 ybs out each and follow the progress thru the season , they may then understand something of the sport ?? andy 8)

Stuart hi stuart, theres no chance of me inviting them as they are tearaways and are out causing trouble every chance they get, they have been talked about through the street and have had police call at their house on numerous occasions. ive chatted to them many times and it seems i got through to them then they get into more trouble, they wont change and i can see a bright future inside for them lol....paul
Guest jason Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 My neighbours fly pigeons had a bit of trouble last year, I'm not delving into it as he might be joining the forum!!!! Jason
swilcox Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Get them down the local rugger club then!!!!!!!!!!
peterpau Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Have to say Stuarts advice sounds best to me. Rugby and pigeons are my life. At my age my wife knows exactly where to find me after a game cos I don't much after six ish. Saturday 52 weeks ayear easily found.
Ronnie Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 ive got two young lad's a couple of doors away from me who fly birds .Lets just say if they get any of mine in i wont see them again.I have had to invest in padlocks because of them .Ive also let the dog go for one of them when he was in my garden he almost cleared a six foot fence with my dog just missing his rear. The parents are ok people but just blind or choose to be blind over the kids and apart from a full fisted confrontation(which i did put down as an option to the parents) i couldnt see an end to it .I then got speaking to one of em and went and had a look round his loft with him he seems to be calming down now he has turned 15.They was both in trouble all the time but age seems to have calmed then down a bit.All being said i still leave the dog out all day and i'm not taking the padlocks of me shed just yet.I think it was the chat with the parents that sorted it out though.Something along the lines of if your kid is near my shed again i'm gonna give you a smack.
Guest slugmonkey Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Two words Bear Trap or try taking a picture next time you catch them then threaten the parents with criminal Liability ( making them pay for lost birds ) I caught neighbor kid with bb gun taking pot shots so I went and explained situation to parents and showed them the prices in magazines I do let this kid shoot in my yard and he has been a perfect little gentleman ever since
Guest CS Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 AGREE WITH THAT!!!!!!!!! THEN PUT PUT IT UP HIS IF HE DOES NOT SORT EM OUT.................... Yes agree with you, mate.
Guest Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 what about a bit of tenderness towards them EDUCATE them about keeping pigeons the proper way we are always yelling about no young people coming into the sport well here is two , you dont want to chase them away welcome them in and show them round and at the same time let them know how serious you are about if any of your birds dissapear for some reason or other and what the consequencys would be ,ie, never getting into a pigeon club to race them ,ok i know it will take time but maybe this is what the lads want and they are only doing these things to get your attention there is more you can do for them rather than to them, good luck
BLUESTORM Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Hi Try to get them on your side, a bit of banter about football rugby cricket ect give them a can of coke now and again, if you show them your OK your life with pigeons might be better with them on your side. Hope these comments have helped you.
Guest CS Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Any more problems with your Neighbours? Paul
jimmy white Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Hi Try to get them on your side, a bit of banter about football rugby cricket ect give them a can of coke now and again, if you show them your OK your life with pigeons might be better with them on your side. Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 put an electric fence round and put padlocks on every way in possible
Guest Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 getting some troublemakers on ur side aint always the best option ,because some are just bad...this is a hard world and if u dont stick up for urself u will be trod on. there are always more then one way to skin a cat,and u do have to give and take when u have neighbours. trouble is some dont give and just take.....wot they like!. they aint causing trouble all the time its just, now and again. i have no trouble going round and having a word with their step father ...and he knows that! ...ill just take it till it gets out of hand then ill act on it ....in my way!! ;)...paul
Guest Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Tearaways are just that until they latch on to something positive & worthwhile. While I think your neighbour needs to take his kids in hand, especially if they are even messing around with his own loft and pigeons, I reckon the best way of reforming them is to get them interested in the pigeons as an interesting and rewarding hobby. Rewarding not in a money sense but in the trust and bond the birds will show them and I suspect these boys would respond to that subconcious praise as it seems to be nothing but negative vibes they're getting just now.
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 if they do that to you goin and take there ps2 or something the be crying like babies!
