just phoned about my new loft that was booked to be deliverd and erected.......only to be told its not even finished yet...didnt even phone me to tell me he couldnt come....rushed my balls off to get the base down in this weather..realy angrey couldnt even tell me when he would be coming.. he said may be next week.........would he be happy if when it is up i said ill pay you some time next week.....

Whos building the loft for you,not a good service if they didnt inform you of the delay.Has it been paid for before hand.

We was told the same thing, when we ordered it we was told it would be delivered in 3/4 weeks, I was chasing it up 2 or 3 times a week and it finally arrived after 9 weeks.  The loft is fantastic, but I would rather be told 9 weeks from the start as we had to move birds pull the old loft down and prepare it for the new loft.  Thuis was a Blakes loft and a mate who had one delivered a few weeks before was told the same 3/4 weeks and had to wait 8 weeks.

We orderd from blakes at blackpool was told 3 weeks rung to see when it was being delieverd told 6/7 weeks so we are going to pick it up ourselves now  >

Be careful if you cancel,I ordered a loft fom a well known loft builder some 3 years ago, they even gave me a delivery date in writing. Had all my youngsters ready to wean off and firm confirmed I would be having loft on agreed date. Two days later loft delivery date changed by 4 weeks because the loft builder was taking a holiday!!! After many phone calls and the offer of meeting the loftbuilder up a dark alley(kindly refused) I promptly cancelled and asked for my deposit back which they refused. Anyway, took them to court and won with costs awarded in the meantime ordered another loft from another loft company,told them of my situation, result had  the loft up within a week. ;D

You should have built it yourself - I did my OB loft in 4 days, and had some fun building it  ;D ;D, and Id say it looks as good as any purpose built lofts  ;D

George @ Barnsley Lofts offers a good service and reasonably priced products, all depending on your loft location, ref travel distance.

Built ALL mine own. Most of them from Demolition sites. Good well matured Beams, Cedar, or pine slattings. Genuine floor boards etc.

  Did twice buy New Material and built... was ok but never a patch on going down the demo sites and speaking to a fela about igeons and how you'd love your loft to be etc. Had them deliver for a drink. Now I believe that buying a little ad a ittle fore thought a brill loft would cost very little.
