me Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 "Yes the wind will play it's part and push them here or there but that is the only thing that will determine which line of flight the pigeons will take." Sorry Gareth but you only have to lookback at some old race results to know just how clearly incorrect your above statement is.
me Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 "Its the same old story blaming position when you get beaten. If the majority of the leading batch in a national were west birds the west would win the national. Why does it happen so often that birds are timed in the south and east sections long before there is anything in the west." your almost answering your own question Jade but sadly enough you don't even realise it. bottom line even if the majority of birds were from the west 9 times out of 10 a bird in the east or more especially the south east would win it. A bit of advice for what its worth if your wanting to fly long distance doos into the west of Scotland try and get them from the west of Scotland your liable to be disappointed if you buy doos from the opposite side of the country and be a lot poorer into the bargain!
Guest Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Burnbank Homing Society Maidstone - 2006-06-24 3 members sent 30 birds. Liberated at 08:00:00 in light var. Pos. Name Club Dist. AFT Velocity 1 Jim Hannah - - 10:35:09 1010.360 2 Jim Hannah - - 10:45:18 994.460 3 Jimmy Mcmillan - - 11:06:14 965.650 4 Jim Hannah - - 12:03:55 886.470 no1 would the thirty birds get on better in a bigger convoy? no2 would they get on better with a better transporter? no3 would they get on better with conveyors more experienced at looking after birds from distance races? no4 would it be cost effective for the members to share transport cost? no5 would the thirty birds be worse off getting dragged up the east coast than they were last year so tammy, sammy alf lets here your points you all sound like you want to stay with lanarkshire on its own change my mind for me and give me your good points on staying on your own :K) the only point that i will make is ,BART , i am a member of the lanarkshire fed that is were my loyalty lays with i am happy to continue going to maidstone or where ever the race points is ,i am not interested in what way the drag comes i concentate on having my pigeons fit so as they are in front of the drag not caught up with it and if they are then plain and simple they are not good enough ,but to go with the national then i dont think we will have a fair playing field and stand the chance of ruining a good open race into the bargain as my opinion there aint an open race about like our maidstone race booth on birdage and prize money , remember this ,convince a man against his will he is of the same opinion still ,and i aint gonna try and convince ya ,cheers alf

GUTTY HEN Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Hi Tam First of all you are not on the phone to joe murphy with capitals you are shouting no need to shout on the phone or on your posts not a good example for your feds pro to carry out.I was under the impresion that you were the pro for lf not the president or the secretary. If lf are not happy with anything in the bhw that has been written by a scribe then the president or secretary will i am sure deal with this on behalf of the members or better still bring this up at a delegates meeting to get the views of the members. So can i ask you when you go calling scribes and printing letters in the bhw have you got the full backing of the membership and is this the way that lf pro should be conducting himself not a very good example to give out and most important of allnot good pro for lf.I will leave it at that i will now go and and get on with getting my pigeons paired up for 2007.I wish you well with your pro job for your fed for 2007 but always remember vince is the daddy.
frank-123 Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 hi gutty vince is not the daddy the previous fed president thought he was the daddy look what happened to him ;D
me Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 "but always remember vince is the daddy." well your new commonsense approach to pigeon racing in Scotland did'nt last very long did it Gutty Hen, the man is the President of the biggest fed in Scotland maybe a little more respect for that position and the fed members would do your cause more good. One thing for sure what you have said above is just childish nonsense and not helpful to anyone.
me Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 "looks like federations are getting their act together and for everyones benifit the feds are going with the snfc good and for the one or two who have still to decide i am sure that the members who are in these feds will do the best for all concerned.lots of birds up together good saveings for the federation members " do you know if the Glasgow and South lanarkshire feds have been asked Gutty Hen?
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Hi Tam First of all you are not on the phone to joe murphy with capitals you are shouting no need to shout on the phone or on your posts not a good example for your feds pro to carry out.I was under the impresion that you were the pro for lf not the president or the secretary. Scott when I phoned Joe Murphy it was to ask where he got the wrong information from, he informed me it was from you, and I put the letter in the BHW so that the members who were wrongly under the immpression that Lanarkshire were going with the SNFC could be corrected, and Vince is not as you put it the daddy, he is an elected president by the members of Lanarkshire, to do as the members wish, now that I have answered your question maybe you will answer what I have asked you , did you inform Joe Murphy that Lanarkshire and the SNFC were going together, and if so who gave you this information ?. Also when you mention our secretary and president, they both asked me to put up a statement that what was being bandied about was inncorrect and no such rumours had come from them, I await your answer to my questions
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Forgot to add Scott that when you were on about letters to the BHW and delegates meetings that after the last delegates meeting I sent another letter to the BHW stating that every single delegate had voted against against going together so that everybody had the correct facts, and that is one of my jobs , to keep the members informed of the facts that are happening within our federation
