NaseemFK Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Hello, Twenty years ago I had the idea of launching the festival of India with a load of pigeons being released spectacularly on London's South Bank, and it was a great sight. A Mr G Martin from Bromley came up with his basket of pigeons and we all enjoyed it, and television covered it too. Now I live in London's East End and I chair a community-based charity and would like to repeat the experience for our big festival next year. I can't find Mr Martin, but I wonder if anyone else out there would be able to come and be part of this? Please do get in touch, and I can tell you more. And I am attaching a picture of birds who gather for breakfast on my neighbour's roof, where I stay when I am in Delhi. Naseem
REDCHEQHEN Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 I'm sure someone will respond - I think Wiley is somewhere near, and there are a few members in Essex
blackdog Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 come on lads and lasses, good chance to get a little bit more publicity
NaseemFK Posted October 28, 2009 Author Report Posted October 28, 2009 Thanks for the support for the idea! Let's hope it flies. I am keeping my fingers crossed....
Tony C Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 There's a couple of Indian lads 'Jutla brothers' who race pigeons in the East End of London, I'll try and get hold of a contact number for you.

Wiley Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 im wiley Naseem, I live in Beckton, you mentioned east end, but didnt mention where abouts, there are many people from the asian community especially in the Green Street area, on penge road(Jutla Bros), theres a few fanciers who live behind west ham park who have simply white pigeons, and a man on St.Georges road whos name surpasses me, but if you got some more information maybe we could arrange something
