HI i got some  potassium permanganate as sugested  today how do i use it now how much do i put in water and how often please

I PUT IN FOUR OR FIVE CRYSTALS EVERY TIME THEY ARE IN THE BATH, BUT HAVE SPILLED IN MORE ON OCCASIONS AND THEY WERE FINE

never known my birds bother what colour the water is even if I used to much the still bathed in it :)

it is excellent, tub lasts for ages , does no harm at all and keeps them lice free

I do not see why you are using Potassium permanganate to keep lice of the birds lets hope the do not come into contact with sugar or you will have fire balls all over the sky.

Well will use pour on. In the men time I believe 'Chinese chalk' is great. Drew a line around the nest bowls to - day.... I have to mate up as the Ferals cock birds are bombarding my lofts when the hens are out, and the cock birds nip over to their lofts when out ... Never seen anything as effective. But must keep well away from the kids etc. of course.

because i know fanciers who have used it for over 40 years and it worked for them and it works for me , thats why i use it, is there a cafe in the sky where they can access sugar ?

hi,paul write to the bhw,and ask for back copies of ken evitts (teesider} series of articles,on bean feeding,some of the articles were called,its only my opinion,and variations on a theme.thearticles will tell you all about,condys crystals or potassium permanganate as it is now known. hope this info helps pdordin ;) ;) ;) ;)

It will only keep the numbers of lice down and not kill them all and if you make it up to strong you will burn the birds. Why not use one of the many products that are safe to use and one that will kill all lice? I do not see the point in just killing some as the others will just breed. Your right they used it 40 years ago but things have moved on. No cafe in sky well not round these parts

what damage does it do to the birds internasl organs when they drink it as they must do when in the bath
