carl Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 You say you start on the 7th April, do you have to? You will do more harm to your pigeons than enough. Ornithose (thick head) will for certain follow and for most of the pigeons the season will be finished before it starts. I would sooner send my birds to 200 miles with a few 30 mile tosses, than toss them in March (N.E. winds) (cold temp) to fly a 60 mile race. Thanks for the reply frank,it makes sense mate.No frank i dont have to start them from the first race 7th april but i was always unsure about jumping them on.Im still learning here only been flying a few seasons now.I have had the problem of my birds going flat after 150/180 miles,,,now i know why,too much too early i think. Thanks again carl greenhow

Guest Vic Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Hi Guys! Finally got 'em moving. Took 'em to Widnes to an old mate of mine that flew with his dad, and served his apprentceship, the same time as myself, in a ten bird limit club,. Yes! those were the days. Whilst waiting for their return (doubled up) a yb appeared, from the night before. I didn't realise it was missing, but I used it to aid my trapping . The w/h cocks, yearlings especially, didn't seem to know what the game is about, but I have seen it all before. Seven day training from the same location, and overshowing the hens, should straighten 'em up, I hope. ;D ;
Guest Vic Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Put your money, on the reds to do the biz in Europe once again, Benitez is a master, plays a depleted Liverpool side, too good for the pretenders. Looking forward to Tuesday. By the way Mr Little, what were you saying about Crouch? ;D ;D AND Mr Lycett, Who was right about Robson? Pigeon wise? Two EXCELLENT fanciers. Pity, your knowledge of football is only the same as Joe C's from the smoke. ;D ;D
Tony C Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Hey Vic, Joe C seeing things through blue tinted spectacles ...............never ;D ;D ;D
