Cut your quote down Roland to show what I'm picking up on.

I think you have got to be careful in what you say as something said in jest is taken as deadly serious elsewhere: Freebie (Lottery Grant) isn't a scam, its a legit way of raising funds for club equipment. If the club wasn't eligible, it wouldn't get the Grant.

Thread struck up elsewhere on the forum which locked into the same sort of theme: think it more than a co-incidence that some misguided person then wrote to the SHU alleging / complaining that it had misappropriated Lottery Funds.

Scots lead the way Roland, we show how and others follow, a century or two later.  ;D

The last line of your post Bruno is 100% correct ;D ;D

If I agree, then are you saying that the ET is really tooo dear for MOST to Buy?

Or CAMN AFFORD to buy... of course you are.. then then next step is 'Freebies' or go without, which elevates to the the 'Haves' have you by the balls' pure and simple, and me as Nissed as a Pewt, can see that! So just where is the problem of you, and many 'Who can afford, or have a loft location, can't understand! Or  better still choose not to understand!

Simple realistic is that the ET wipe the *expletive removed* off genuine flyers who should be beaten WIN! Now just what part of SHOULD' Have do't you understand!!!! It will be a simple cse od EVEN MORE where the best bird on the day doesn't win... and the money boys, those able will love

Wont take long to finish off the smaller clubs if that happens fair enough timing in like that if you are in a strong club or it is a classic or national race at least if your using a conventional clock you can time in only your first couple of birds is there any way with ets that say after your fist 3 birds nothing is shown can you turn it off or something

u couldf take ur clock out then other arrivals would be trainers, which happens once the race has been struck off,

We are the lost 11th tribe of Israel. We were destined to rool the world but Him upstairs took cold feet and rechristened us 'Quarrelsome Scots'. Rightly figured we'd then be too busy fighting ourselves to be bovvered wiv the rest of the world ... not this week anyhow.  ;D  ;D

Not actually saying that trhe best on the day won't win and deserve credit as such..... only that tooo often the best WON'T win!!! 15 seconds is a long time... just ponder for a moment how far a bird flies in 15 seconds!!! simple but true!!!!

I can't quite follow your plot here Roland. ETS started out in Scotland £500 a kit; I couldn't afford it then. Now down to £350, and I still can't afford it. For all the reasons you've already mentioned, it really needs to be the club that's kitted out, not just the one or two of the better-off in it who maybe can afford to buy it. The only sensible way of kitting out a whole club is thro sponsorship, or a grant. The kit then belongs to the club, not the fancier..

very good point there and i probably agree it would be better this way..........

Quite simply Bruno, there are most, in the clubs, and Fed I am in that the majority still have Toulettes etc. Yes many second hand... me included. Now there are a lot of say T3'S, possibly 2 or three in in each of the clubs I am in... second hand they are around the £100 mark. Still most make do with the older ones... AND the point is that if they can't afford them, and as there aren't any - or many - second hand ET's, then I see a lot won't be having then f THEY have to fork out for them their selves. Even with sponsorships etc, Bands etc at just over a £1 a throw means many will again be detered.

So the more afluent will gain again over the plebs... The rights and wrongs don't really matter. Golly I have a hang over... Never use to when the girls bought the drink.... lol

Most ETS systems will rank by band number not how they crossed pad if you look at your arrival sheet it will tell you exactly how the birds came in when you put this info into the system to figure the race it sorts in order of lowest to highest

Tammy- this system is MUCH more honest than manual as it is in black and white how the birds came and NOT up to how the fancier clocked their first bird, in other words you cant grab the pooled bird and stick him in first when you get them together

In fact this now raises some questions about allowing non ETS pooling ?
