Yesterday I was feeding my pigeons and one flew out through the door so I went outside and stood to one side to see if it would go back in and another flew out but landed in the church yard behind my garden and within seconds a fox had it. I am a huge animal lover and wont harm a fly but I can tell you now that if I had had a chance with the shovel I would have flattened the fox. I am really gutted and soooooo gonna get revenge on this fox.

this is what happens when they stop us fox hunting, a chap down here in worcester had his stock loft and 8 y/b killed by a fox, nice looking animals but cause devestistation.

Well the wire mesh was put up quite quickly last night onto the front. Cant even put poison down as I might poison my own cats. I used to think foxes were really nice but I cant stand the sight of them and when I am in the car and I see one run across the road I will try and help it into fox heaven for sure. Used to be anti foxhunting but now, bring it on!!!

sorry to hear about that o,k.   this seems to be a bigger problem in the last few years ,, the urban foxes ,, ive seen three walking like little dogs down the road in the middle of a housing scheme, theres also many around me, their getting braver and bolder, so i think its just a case of making the loft fox proof or setting a trap and letting them go in the countryside?

Hi Jimmy,

At the moment if I got hold of one I would not be letting it go in the countryside at all. It be bouncing off the end of me shovel. I am a very forgiving person but there is just no need. :'(

lads dnt mean to ruin anything but becareful what your saying, a few guys got arrested for what they said on some forums about birds of prey, so people could be watching. Im sorry to hear of your situation OK, i also was plagued by foxes, one of my mates lofts was broken into by a fox, the ending was real horrific, make your loft fox free as possible  :)

david , glad we talked yesterday hope your well friend, foxes are just nature , you will recover from this small set back mate. i know you have a sensible outlook on things.

Sir

I suggest you purchase a cage trap via the countrymans weekly catch and then cull the fox that is completely legal. If not i can assure you charlie will be back and he will wipe you out . I am an ex gamekeeper and pro terrierman i know how charlie works your birds are a easy food source and they will be feeding cubs at present please take heed of what i have said charlie is a frenzy killer and can wipe you out on one visit.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the advice. At the moment I am guessing that is will be safe as I have a very alert dog. If she hears a noise she is out in seconds. I think the fact that there is a dog in the garden it might deter the fox from coming in the garden as I have never seen a fox in the garden.

Off topic: Today I decided that I will let out 4 pigeons and guess wot? Two have disappeared and two are hanging around on the roof. I have been training them with the tin and have not fed them since last night but they wont come near the loft to eat. Just started and already getting fed up.

to me the birds seemed to have been way to flighty if this is the case, and should have been let out at a much younger age, Young birds can be a pain in the *expletive removed* if they are over fed, and will sit there and sit there, untill they finally get hungry. Have to watch out cos young birds are like sheep what one does the others will follow. If you have any pigeons in the loft that have ever been soaped or cut down place this on the floor near your loft the young birds may soon follow and just a matter of walking them into the loft. Wish you the best of luck!
