maverick Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 BEST PLACE FOR THE BIRDS IS IN THE LOFT. IF THE WEATHER IS FORECAST TO BE BAD AS IT IS AGAIN THIS WEEK. I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE BIRDS AT HOME THAN STUCK IN A BASKET

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 You can only go on what the weather folks tell you Tam, and weather seems to be a female, changes its mind every other minute of the day. ;D Can't agree with marking in face of a bad forecast. Surely the best place for the birds is in their loft rather than in the transporter. Holdovers cost money, and there have been a few threads recently about problems with birds at home rising off the nest when the others are absent - even on a normal Thursday marking. And 6 days in the basket then brought home, and holdovers to Mon, Tue recently is a repeat of the weekend a couple of years back where despite the weather forecast, orgs still marked. Only difference then was it was done with YBs. AGREE 100% WITH UR FIRST PART BRUNO ;D ;D, BUT HOW MANY TIMES HAS THERE BEEN A BAD FORECAST AND THEN IT HAS TURNED OUT TO BE OKAY AND THEN THE BIRDS COULD HAVE HAD A RACE, THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW EXAMPLES IN LANARKSHIRE WHEN BIRDS WERE BASKETED AND THE TRANSPORTER NEVER LEFT LANARKSHIRE BECAUSE THE FORECAST WAS BAD, AND THEN THE SATURDAY WAS A GREAT DAY AND WE NEVER HAD A RACE , NOTHING WILL CONVINCE ME OTHER WISE THAT THE BIRDS HAVE TO BE BASKETED ON A FRIDAY AND SENT TO THE RACEPOINT AND IF THE WEATHER IS UNSUITABLE THEN U BRING THEM BACK A BIT TO A SUITABLE RACEPOINT, EVERYBODY HAS DIFFERENT OPINIONS ON THIS , MINE IS QUITE CLEAR, THE BIRDS ARE SENT
Guest Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Think we are talking about different things Tam. Basketing on Friday and keeping the transporter at home is nonsense, in my opinion.
