I am not sure on the procedure when it comes to showing peoples entries and that decision I think is upto webmaster to make  I cant say I have ever entered anything and seen the other entries you enter and the judges decision is final whether you like it or not obviously there are always going to be some that agree on it and some that dont on the decison

 

I JUST THOUGHT AS IT WAS THE MEMBERS WHO DONATED THE TROPHY IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE WHAT IT WAS JUDGED ON.  ALL I WOULD LIKE TO SAY IS I HOPE IT IS RUN BETTER NEXT YEAR AS IT HAS TAKEN SO LONG TO FIND OUT WHO WON IT THIS YEAR AND I SEE FROM AN EARLIER POST THE WINNER WAS ONLY TOLD THIS MONTH, I JUST HOPE THERE IS NOT TO MANY PEOPLE ENTERING NEXT YEAR AS IT TOOK A VERY LONG TIME TO JUDGE TWO SETS OF RESULTS

The problem with not disclosing the the FULL applications and results is people will think something underhand is going on and that is to be expected. : : :

                                                   AS SOMEONE WHO INDIRECTTLY CONTRIBUTED IN THAT I PURCHASED THE YOUNG BIRD SO GENEROUSLY GIVEN BY KENNY BALD,I FIND IT INCREDIBLE THAT NO ONE IN AUTHORITY FINDS IT NECCESARY TO PUT FORWARD ON THIS SITE THE CLAIMS SUBMITTED FOR THE MICKIE B TROPHY.

owwwwwwwwwww well never mind well done to the winner westy :-/ praphs thay need to make i clearer next year ah :-/  nothing like having a trophy .with all the young fanciers results not showing, agree thay should be showed but if a indepened person cant choose in future then i think it should,be left to the forum memebers who should vote but ok some will sign in just to vote but the real voters wont be chipping  new memebers will thay lol  ;D ;D ;D ;D so please dont have go at the mod team for this thay are only  the back bone, lol arc at me i dont useally be this nice but  its the first time if time i agree its all been done the wrong way  hope ive not offened any memebers but i  like ya all have a view, just think now its a offical trophy to be won done the best honest way as it can.Speck :-/ :X

come on lads and ladies no arguments if there is going to be a comotion over this trophy then i will refuse it and i dont want to do that for mickies sake and all the people who put the hard work into it, or have it as a joint trophy if there is oing to be arguments.

I've been silent on this moderator & member because I frankly knew nothing about the trophy and its award. But I have now turned up the original thread and it makes appalling reading, much the same tone as this one and a disgrace to the man's memory, so much so that the Webmaster Richard wound the original thread up on 26th September 06 with this decision:-

 

"I shall take the entries at webmaster@pigeonbasics.com please mark them 'Mickie B Trophy'. Once the entries are in I shall correspond with with a number of people, most probably independent of the forum from which the winner will be chosen. The people I correspond with will be named when the winner is named, for verification if needs be."

 

The original thread also showed the award was not based on results alone. And just as Richard decided back on 26th September, the current award was made by people who are not pigeonbasics members and who do not know the entrants.

 

As you all know, Richard has been up to his eyes in Uni work all this year, and it was Rose who reminded him that the Trophy had not yet been judged. Once reminded he got onto it right away.

 

Reading the conflict in this thread and the original I think it was a wise decision to have an independant panel who didn;t know the contestants. Again in my opinion, you can't beat that for fairness.
