xtccock Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 hi folks whats your oppiniopns on clocking two birds on the same second with a t3 how should the results work out ????????????
square_peg Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 FIRST RUBBER IS THE FIRST DOO TIMED IN......END OF...
ALF Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 FIRST RUBBER IS THE FIRST DOO TIMED IN......END OF... EXACTLY!!!
xtccock Posted July 29, 2007 Author Report Posted July 29, 2007 yes but do they carry the same velocity?/aft or shhould adjustments be made??
Guest Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 1st rubber in the thinble is 1st bird to read out...paul
Guest Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 same velocity ,as how can u do other wise, they were both clocked at same time.
ALF Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 NOT ALLOWED TO PUT 2 RUBBERS IN THE SAME THIMBLE.WELL NOT IN SCOTLAND ANYWAY
PIGEON_MAN Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Doesn,t say it,s two birds in the same thimble.

xtccock Posted July 29, 2007 Author Report Posted July 29, 2007 its the second time it has happened to me ,the fiirst time i clocked 3 birds 2on 44seconds 3rd on 46 seconds the secretary worked out diff velocities for each bird on the priniple one sec apart,,,,,,,,,,, all well n good cos i was a mile behind.. first young bird race yesterday clocked 4 birds 2on 44sec 1on 48 1on 50 still didnt win but where do i stand????
square_peg Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 TWO DOO'S WITH THE SAME TIME HAVE TO BE FLYING THE SAME SPEED (VEL) THE SECY OR WHOEVER WORKS OUT THE RESULT CANNOT ADD ANY TIME TO YOUR CLOCKING TIME.
PIGEON_MAN Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 The two birds on 44 secs.should have the same velocity.tell your sec.he is wrong to do it the way he as.
xtccock Posted July 29, 2007 Author Report Posted July 29, 2007 thanx square peg my sentiments too have been checking open results now for last 4 weeks it is happening regular where a flyer has two birds with same aft/veloc in diff orgarnizations ie, up north ,mnfc, welsh open to name a few/////////////////

Guest Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Think its another sign of procedures not keeping pace with modern technology. If you have two thimbles timed on the same second, they are not really clocked at the same time, because some time must have elapsed between the 1st and 2nd thimble going in the clock, even if its just a few milliseconds. Is it such a shortcoming that the clock doesn't show parts of a second? Doubt very much if velocities could be calculated on such precise times, how many decimal points would you need to go to in the velocity when there's milliseconds in the calculation, 1400. 000000000023, and 1400. 0000000000024 ??? There shouldn't be any time added - the clock has recorded your correct time so that's your time - and you have already cost your 1st bird time by not timing it in right away, before going after the second bird, a few seconds can cost the race nowadays, but then adding another second surely amounts to a penalty?
xtccock Posted July 29, 2007 Author Report Posted July 29, 2007 my principle is if i have one or more birds drop together then i remove all rubbers first then place in thimbles and drop thm all in the clock consequivetly .how can you claim one bird was first if they all arrived together?? or the clock shows same time? my only argument was that if i was using ets then all birds would have recorded the same second /// but this nothing to do with ets .
xtccock Posted July 29, 2007 Author Report Posted July 29, 2007 yes i fully appreciate i lost time not just by going after the second pigeon but 3rd and the 4th pigeon as well n this was on a 50 mile race if i lost that was for me to deal with but i know in me heart where they lie n thats all that counts to me cos i aint selling pigeons, but ithink what may have got to them is knowing someonelse has won involuntarily,,,,,,,
THE FIFER Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 with ets it sorts out first and second bird. it doesnt matter if all birds come in at the same time its when they go in the clock that counts, if u have 3 thinbles in ur hand u cant put them all in at once, even if the birds came in at the same time, if a bird come in at 12-10-40, and u didnt put it in the clock until 12-15-30 its the latter that counts so it dont matter if u take 2-3 rubbers off at the same time its how they go in the clock,

The modern technology I was talking about was your T3. Only 1 bird can be 1st in the clock and thats the 1st bird you catch and the 1st thing you do after that is you get the rubber into the thimble and the thimble into the clock. The other birds in the drop are surely a bonus. Your thread basically questions losing one second. How many seconds are you losing through not clocking that all important 1st thimble as soon as you have a rubber to go in it? Which would you rather be : 1st club, OR 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th club?
