jimmy white Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 i use the electronic cat repellent , certainly made a difference [but I'm not sure there's certain cats get kinda used to it [probably deaf ones ;D] but there is one cat that passes it without any bother,, the rest run,,,,,, i was told to put pepper around the garden [seems they dont like this] tried the Sunday peppers the daily peppers even the pigeon peppers ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D,,untill i realised it was pepper ;D ;D ;D
wayne77 Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 right ive got a problem!!!!! got birds in backgarden, my younger sister has recently bought a cat home with her!!!!! had words with parents ect ect and after an amount of discusions the cats got to stay!!!!(stupid decision) how do i stop the bloody thing frm getting to the birds ect ect pm me any thoughts please As said may be an advantage. My mate has three cats one follows him into loft! I have seen his cats lying in front of loft with pigeons pecking around them. All about patience and training. But you will get no other cats in garden once sorted.
Roland Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Your problem might not be as bad as you think. Cats are supposedly territorial, so your one should keep the others at bay. Need to train it that the birds are out of bounds. Perhaps someone can help there? Knew of fanciers that had young spaded kittens that were allowed to roam with the birds , grew to protect them. My father - we I supose lol - had cats and dogs, that tolerated each other. All knew their place like. But a cat will ignore a dog as soon as it knows the territory, and can get bove it in safety. And is a cat atacks any dog, the dog is zitcho from then on.... For it will drop on it's back and claw at the dogs eyes.... Dogs scram from then on. Electric fence ,,, garden centres now do them for £50 especialy for cts and allottments etc.

Guest coxy Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 when my dad was racing years ago, he had 3 ferrets in seperate hutches and cats never came near....I'm guessing that cats don't like ferrrets. jason thts ok then becuase i breed ferrets so i will just have to locate hutches around the loft area and hopefully cat will stay away
DOVEScot Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 thts ok then becuase i breed ferrets so i will just have to locate hutches around the loft area and hopefully cat will stay away I don't think you need to put ferrets around the loft, just their dropping, also discourages the vermine
DOVEScot Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Put the silent lion pellets around the garden tonight (well Chickadee did) will let you all know if it works
blackjack Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Master Cox the ferret thing is a mith a friend of mine keeps ferrets and had cat trouble until he put up an electric fence.
