Guest Vic Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 The "Ring of the Future" has surely been shown by the inadequacy of the RPRA themselves.Clubs and feds etc. can exist through modern day technology without all the red tape stuff, and chains of office that go with it. Remember the NWHU? A good pigeon was called Breakaway around that time. The RPRA have now disturbed a hornets nest, by excepting the ets ,. I have heard the ranting and ravings that is happening here, without going any further. Yes! the Ring of the Future for the RPRA, comes in the shape of a noose, which they have unwittingly placed around their own necks.
Wiley Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 BUT ALL DOO'S WILL STILL HAVE TO CARRY AN ID RING ,PUT ON THE DOO WHEN ITS 5/6 DAYS OLD ,AND, THIS RING CANNOT BE REMOVED UNLESS CUT OFF /OR FOOT REMOVED,WHICH WOULD RENDER THE DOO INELIGIBLE FOR RACING WOULD IT NOT? the ring is made as an all in one, as an id ring and a chip ring so there isnt the need for 2 different rings
frank-123 Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 easier to take a rubber of than an ets ring but if people want to cheat they can get away with it for so long then they will be caught vic scotland had all the problems with ets now most people dont give a toss whether you use ets or not
square_peg Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 the ring is made as an all in one, as an id ring and a chip ring so there isnt the need for 2 different rings YEAH MENT TO SAY THE ETS " CARRIER" RING WILL BE THE ID RING PUT ON AT AN EARLY AGE
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 RINGS JUST SEEM TO BE GETTING BIGGER, MAYBE HINDER THE BIRDS AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN FLYING 500-600 MILES, A LITLE EXTRA AFTER THIS FLYING CAN SEEM LIKE A LOT yes i agree as for the chip it has to be registered to the bird, and it has to be romoved by a thing in the club i belive? ben
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 ITS BEEN DONE BEFOR WITH RUBBERS SO WHATS TO STOP IT HAPPENING WITH AN ETS CHIP :o because they qet put trough a ringer type pad and its pritty oviuse if you got some there trying to push a tiny chip out!"

Yes! the Ring of the Future for the RPRA, comes in the shape of a noose, which they have unwittingly placed around their own necks. After having my say, may I also add, that those in power at the RPRA will forever regret their too hasty decision of acceptence. Clubs at the moment are not set up for this "sudden changeover", and after a brief talk a few minutes ago, with the Western Region Secretary, who has no knowleddge of the ets whatsoever. yet has recieved some complicated figures to decipher. from members intent on using the system for ybs this year. As I prophetised. Some heads will have the noose on.
Guest Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 The only valid reason for a removable chip that I can think of is electronic failure of the ring's original. Must surely be some inbuilt safeguard to stop malicious removal surely. Any website giving info?

Sorry Vic for cutting your posting down a bit but i felt i must reply to the above points,Clubs that want Ets i can assure you are set up for it,as a club Secretary i have been finding out as much as i possibley can about it for months now as i knew it would come in some time and as a secretary thought it my duty to do so,obviousley the region secretary is not interested in it as he to as had plenty of time to find out about it.At the moment there are about 5 members including myself who hopefully will be using it for our first youngbird race on on the 21st july.
