sapper756 Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 The Fifer informed me last night that Amtrak Kirkcaldy is ceasing trading as from midnight last night, I phoned head office this morning who confirmed this. I am awaiting delivery of a pigeon today, so enquired where it is. Fife birds will now be dealt with through the Edinburgh Depot. Phone No. 01506858858. I phoned the Edinburgh Depot who confimed that my bird has left the Depot this morning and I should get it today.

Yes it has totally stopped all trading, the Amtrak guy who delivered my bird said they are closing a number of small depots, and working from the larger depots.
Guest Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Know that Kirkcaldy was the depot I dealt with here in Stirlingshire, so its closure will affect a lot further than Fife
DOVEScot Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Know that Kirkcaldy was the depot I dealt with here in Stirlingshire, so its closure will affect a lot further than Fife Yes we had birds delivered once and then the guy was off to Falkirk with birds, SO THERE TAMMY ;D

DOVEScot Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 who knows we may get a better service now that small depos are closing and we are dealing with the larger ones, Hope so but not always the case, I liked the fact I could take any or pickup any birds at kirkcaldy depot
polly Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Glad you got bird Sapper. And why were they giving you free boxes Jimmy when they had none in the Stoke on Trent depot? I have had to send a letter of complaint to head office and requested refund for the boxes I had to buy and send down, including other deception by them which is being investigated now.
THE FIFER Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Hope so but not always the case, I liked the fact I could take any or pickup any birds at kirkcaldy depot yes agree it was handy and u new the people you were dealling with, i believe its the same chap picking up etc for edinburgh as was kirkcaldy.
Fair Play Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 The Glasgow depot has moved to Cumbernauld

I have had to send a letter of complaint to head office and requested refund for the boxes I had to buy and send down, including other deception by them which is being investigated now. i think it was just the driver , being freindly,, he knew about the bother i had b4 about comming to collect birds and not bringing boxes [i think it was more down to the driver , than amtrack themselves] yes sammy ;D they were empty ;D ;D ;D good job ;D ;D ;D there were about a dozen ;D ;D ;D

As you say you have a good driver in your area and so do we, but if a cog in the chain fooks up then it causes all the problems we and our birds incur Sadly at times there seems to be a lot more fooed up cogs that good ones ;D ;D ;D Surely the answer to Poly's boxes was for Soke on Tent to phone their head/supply office. not a Kirkcldy problem :-/
DOVEScot Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Aye phoned today, it's Amtrak Broxburn 01 506 858 858 for future ref
Guest Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 The Glasgow depot has moved to Cumbernauld Again affects Central Scotland, anything come off the South for me was delivered by the former Glasgow depot. Seems to be a major re-organisation afoot and as folks say with fewer depots the Operation should become a lot smarter, albeit big depots are usually more impersonal.
Fair Play Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 My deliveries are 1-1/2 hrs later than before
