Pompey Mick Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Has any Club used the East Coast Software race program with the Unikon interface data transferring function ?
PIGEON_MAN Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Mick,I could be wrong on this but I dont think that you can use a programme as yet that downloads the arrivals straight onto the computer, all arrivals have to be printed via a printer that is connected straight from the ETS,or is this something totally differant you are asking about.
Ian McKay Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 This can be done with Eastcoast Software I have purchased it but not used it yet I am sure some club in Scotland has this system up and running. There was a post asking some questions about hic ups.
PIGEON_MAN Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 I believe that the RPRA rules prevent us from using such a programme at the moment.
Henrik Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 May be wrong but I think Newmains Club uses this software
billymac Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 OUR CLUB USED THE EAST COAST SOFTWARE WITH THE UNIKON SYSTEM,PRODUCES VELOCITIES FOR EACH MEMBER WHEN THEIR CLOCK IS PLACED IN CLUB BASE STATION & THEN PRODUCES THE FINAL RESULT. WE ENCOUNTERED SEVERAL HICCUPS AT THE START,BUT ON THE WHOLE WORKED FINE. OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS AT THE START WE WERE USING THE EAST COAST PROGRAMME SIDE BY SIDE WITH THE UNIKON PROGRAMME, ALL CLUB DATA IS NOW ALL CONTAINED WITHIN THE EAST COAST PROGRAMME SOLELY & WE HAVE DONE AWAY WITH THE UNIKON DISC. ALL DATA INPUTTED THROUGH EAST COAST PROGRAMME IS THEN TRANSFERRED TO EACH MEMBERS CLOCK THROUGH THE SYNCHRONISATION SYSTEM
GREENGRASS Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 I believe that the RPRA rules prevent us from using such a programme at the moment. correct tony not allowed to have your ets connected through a pc to produce results just yet. think there was a case in europe where information from ets clock was "altered" while passing through the pc....................
Pompey Mick Posted October 5, 2007 Author Report Posted October 5, 2007 I know the initial printout is to be done through a printer only but I was thinking of inputting the data into the PC after the initial RPRA printout, if possible.
GREENGRASS Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 yes mick that is very possible, and easy to do. some ets systems are currently being upgraded to allow the owner to input distances etc watch out over the winter months.
sj irving jnr Posted October 6, 2007 Report Posted October 6, 2007 i think dave smith also uses that ets programme for springfield flying club
