frank-123 Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 hard work always pays and with everyone working together it makes for a great club with good club spirit too true everyone working together just a pity you were not with the rest of fife but thats politics you have done a great job getting that trailer can you add to the capacity
rembrant2coo Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 dear bart the rest fife were asked to come three years ago, they said it would not work we had the members to make it work. we left them with the transporter and £29,000 in the bank. and walked a way we are the better for it not them thy are ina bit of a pickle now, so they had there chance .
Guest Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 the bridges club is not fife bart we are central/nothwest but this thread is not about the politics as you said bart. Yes we could add small crates to the middle sections if need be, but there is plenty of room for the club birds at the moment but who know the extra space might come in handy.
Guest Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Lets not turn this to politics lads this is about a good club working hard together and being very sucsessfull in just three years we should wish any club all the best in their effort to try and better the club members and birds.
GREENGRASS Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 looks great frank all the best of luck for the future with it.
Guest Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Thanks Karl maybe we will all be on Geraldys shortly
frank-123 Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 sorry never meant to start the politics bit just would be great if lanarkshire could get one just a wee bit bigger ;D
Guest Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Anything is possible bart you have some good guys working hard for yous also
Guest Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Well done on the new transporter, saw the Almond Valley Geraldy when our own Fed was working to renew our transporter and I was very impressed with the facilities for the crew and the birds. My only concern is your capacity because it doesn't really allow for future expansion of the club. Think our new Fed transporter maybe highlights my point, big enough for current needs when built, but then a year later 5 new clubs come along wanting to join ....
Guest Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Fair point bruno but you have to remember this is a club trailer and it can be hitched to purpose built vechicle at any time so when the birdage goes up we will just have to find the money to but a new geraldy transporter. I think the n/w fed and central have got it bang on for the fact that they can double the capicity by fitting a trailer to their transporters. Long gone are the days when these feds had 4/6 thousand birds so the big transporters were very costly. Remember all you need to do is unhitch the trailer and save yourself running costs

Guest Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Thanks for the comments and your right dovescot survival is the name of the game just now.
Chris Little Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Nice one Frank, hard work always pays and the rewards are great
Guest Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Aye and if a transporter breaks down then your fooked, but you can hitch a trailer to any suitable vehicle Looking nice frank & co Agree that if the transporter breaks down and you have no back-up plan, yes well and truly bugrd: our transporter broke down on the road once during the first year, but our President, Scott Gibson had a mechanic attend in the wee hoors of Saturday morning, and we still got a race. Also agree Forth Bridges is a very smart looking vehicle and I'm sure will turn a few heads on the journey. Again, well done all.
Guest Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Thanks Chris i dont think it will be the last one this year yo go geraldy
