If a raptor was attacking cats, dogs or livestock it would not matter what the tree huggers or anyone else said said, surely you have a right to protect your birds the same as rest :-/

intresting is this the same newspaper who joined forces with the SCPCA to protect  raptors in scotland.

Papers are only printed to sell, no other reason.

We don't want to put on red coats and go hunting then on say/sun. We just want the right to remove nuisance hawks that are attacking our birds, at least in our on property :-/

Reckon Scotsman readership appears very pro-birds of prey, and very anti-pigeon?

Perhaps a lost cause getting anything published there?

Its generated a lot of comments, I've put the article & comments upon main Birds of Prey thread.

A perfect oppertunity to register and add your comments, keep them decent and constructive, don't let them think we are a bunch of self indulgent pigeon fanciers who want to kill every hawk in sight ;) ;) ;)

Have you read some of the replies against pigeons :( :( :(

Most of these folk with their comments dont realise its the hawks that have decimated the song birds from our gardens, its not just the pigeons that are suffering.

i left a comment any way

remember a guy in the bhw was saying we should keep our pigeons locked up for two years starting to make sense to me now

as i have seen recently the sparrowhawks and peregrine's are going daft just now looking for food but as most pigeons are locked up food source is very low

to be honest most joe public have never even seen a sparrowhawk never mind seen it kill if they did they may change there minds
