THE FIFER Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 i have always got on with my neighbours, until now, next door has just built a 3 meter high breeze block wall right along the back of my loft, not worried about the wall but he then built a large barbicue against it right behind my loft and put a chimney on it, his garden lies lower than mine so the chimney is just about 3-4 feet below my loft and the smoke from it fills the loft as i have vents along the top, it also comes in the house, i told him about it and he said yes i noticed it going up to ur hut, but i cant put it anywhere else, i told him he could shift it to the middle of his garden, but he said it needs to be against the wall, so i told him we can settle it between our selves as this would be in his interest, as i told him he needs planning permission for a wall that high also as it is 3 meters and only 3 inches thick its against building regulations, he said its his property and he doesnt need permission, he hasnt used it lately, but it is still there,
ALF Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 FIFER REPORT HIM TO THE COUNCIL AND THEY WILL MAKE HIM TAKE IT DOWN AS IT IS AGAINST BUILDING RULES ;)
chickadee Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 i have always got on with my neighbours, until now, next door has just built a 3 meter high breeze block wall right along the back of my loft, not worried about the wall but he then built a large barbicue against it right behind my loft and put a chimney on it, his garden lies lower than mine so the chimney is just about 3-4 feet below my loft and the smoke from it fills the loft as i have vents along the top, it also comes in the house, i told him about it and he said yes i noticed it going up to ur hut, but i cant put it anywhere else, i told him he could shift it to the middle of his garden, but he said it needs to be against the wall, so i told him we can settle it between our selves as this would be in his interest, as i told him he needs planning permission for a wall that high also as it is 3 meters and only 3 inches thick its against building regulations, he said its his property and he doesnt need permission, he hasnt used it lately, but it is still there, Oh dear, If ye can't settle it between yourselves, It'll be a case o if you tell the council about ma wall I'll complain about your birds, etc, BUT, you most deffinately can't go on getting the loft filled up wi smoke, surely he can see that? >
THE FIFER Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 FIFER REPORT HIM TO THE COUNCIL AND THEY WILL MAKE HIM TAKE IT DOWN AS IT IS AGAINST BUILDING RULES ;) yes I know that alf but i am not too worried about the wall and as long as he knows i know I dont think he will use his barbicue, also i read my deeds, it states all boundary fences are neutral and he has built the wall against the old fence so leaving me to deal with the old fence, i think he realises he does nead permission, its not just he put up the wall he has filled in a large area with plastic sheeting so they can sit under it, we have got on well with them no problem, but he is the type that goes this is mine and i'll do what i want, i had to tell him he is in scotland now and not in greece,
DOVEScot Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 , as i told him he needs planning permission for a wall that high also as it is 3 meters and only 3 inches thick its against building regulations, he said its his property and he doesnt need permission, he hasnt used it lately, but it is still there, OH, HE HAS A LOT TO LEARN FIFER
DOVEScot Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 also i read my deeds, it states all boundary fences are neutral and he has built the wall against the old fence so leaving me to deal with the old fence, , YOUR WRONG ON THAT ONE FIFER, HE CAN ERECT A WALL OR FENCE WITHIN HIS PROPERTY, IF HE HAS LEFT THE OLD FENCE THEN IT CANNOT BE THE BOUNDARY LINE
THE FIFER Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 YOUR WRONG ON THAT ONE FIFER, HE CAN ERECT A WALL OR FENCE WITHIN HIS PROPERTY, IF HE HAS LEFT THE OLD FENCE THEN IT CANNOT BE THE BOUNDARY LINE the old fence is the boundary line on the deeds and it states both parties are responsible for the upkeep, yes he can build a wall on his side but he is still responsible for part upkeep on the boundary fence, also he needs planning permission to build a wall higher than 2 meters, and a wall which he has built 3- meters only being 3 inches thick is against building regulations, which is laid down the thicknes they must be for different heights, i had this out when i built my garrage which was put up by a firm its a concrete one, they kept it back 3 feet of the boundary into my land, this is so the wall belongs to me, if it had been put up on the boundary, half would have belonged to my neighbour,

annie Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 supposedly been scientifically proved that pigeons when flying do NOT crap in mid air its just wan of they myhts that say they doo ;D ;D ;D ;Dnever ever seen it ma cell so who has ;D ;D
Guest Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 i had this prob years ago and i think fifer is on the ball point out that pigeons dont do it on the wing unless there flying for hrs and tell her to look at your birds on the loft they all ways turn round before they sh-- when she sees that she wont blame your birds any more then ask her to watch the stuckies they are the ones who sit on the washing lines unless she just wants to complain about something in that case just wait and deal with it when it comes
Guest Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 My understanding is that normally there are no droppings during a longish flight as pigeon's body conserves water, and uric acid is kept circulating in the blood to cool the bird, so there's nothing to flush anything away with.. But I've seen it happen here twice, once when the bird was startled into the air - and the other just before a bird landed from a race, which really surprised me as there was a lot of solid matter dropped whereas usually their first dropping after a race is mostly liquid? Think these splashes on washing can also be identified as wild birds cause there's usually very little solid stuff in them.
Tic eye Hen Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Yep Pigeons dont poop when in flight. When we first moved in our neighbours were a pain in the *expletive removed* esp on race days-putting washing out just as one arrived home or just simple putting their washing line up high minus the washing. Also when our babies were out for the first time they used to make either aloud bang or somehting just to scare them up into the air. Neighbours can be a pain but dont let them rule your life and ruin your hobby!! :
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Have to disagree pigeons do S***e when flying mine have done it a few times just missing me. But what I tell the complaining neighbour is that they tuck there feet in beside there *expletive removed* so they wont s***e on there own feet

But what I tell the complaining neighbour is that they tuck there feet in beside there *expletive removed* so they wont s***e on there own feet I really thought they didn't s***t on the wing either, I've only ever had problems with the washing when the washing line was under the trees, but since we moved it, it has been fine.
THE FIFER Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 if our bird did poop in flight it would be a disaster, 30-40 birds flying in a batch pooping, i certainly have never seen them do so in flight, not saying that the odd one wont if it is got soft dropping problems, just look how long they go without doing so when sitting, i think if they did while flying we would have great problems letting them fly in batches just think about it,
