Hi everyone just wonder is anybody could give me some advice as to were i stand.

As i have said in previous Threads i have only been keeping pigeons for around 2 years,

I have heard on the grape vine now that the neighbours are not happy with the birds they have not been out since early september, and the woman next door has commented to another neighbour that birds have been messing her washing, this cannot be my birds. does anybody know how i legally stand if she was to complain, I really don't want to have to get rid of them as they are the best thing i have ever done.

has anybody been in the same situation and still got there birds.

i know you may not want to, but it really is worth having a chat with the neighbour.  Never make an enemy of them, keep them on side and then they won't complain

I'am just worried about it as this woman can be pretty nasty person if she wants and as i was told it doesn't take much for her to be nasty.

gives you all the more reason not to say anything then dont it as yi might end up saying something you would regret and make matters worse quite sure all other neighbours will eventually tell her were to go as she is only looking for the other neighbours support  ;)

Do you get on with the other side?  Talk to them, let them know your birds are in when she is saying that they are making a mess.  That way if she does talk to the council, you have a witness who can say otherwise.

yes i do get on with the other side they seem to be ok not bussom buddies with them though as i try to keep myself to myself .

but were do i stand if she complain to the council?

I agree that you need to be careful, for all you know there may be trouble between these two neighbours and you might be getting used by one to wind-up the other.

Noticed you said you were told 'birds' fouling washing, rather than 'your birds fouling washing' so could mean nothing to do with your birds.

You know that your birds haven't been out, so would stay quiet - and smug.  :)

If it is only here that is complaining they probably won't even deal with it, i work a lot with councils and enviro health, they are far too busy to react to one person.  If you are unlucky a jobsworth might turn up, but stay calm but your version of events forward and point out that regardless of you having pigeons, you can't stop the ferals!  They can't argue with that

i had this problem years ago the neighbour worried about the birds and her washing ,i asked her what days she washed ,she thought i was a nutter  ;D

i told her my birds would not leave the loft when she had her washing out on sundays ,shes aware birds race saturdays wednesdays ,she always asks me if birds are racing should she hang out clothes on a saturday ,i always reply hang them out no problem .

since she moved next door to me in over twenty years she has never once complained and this works very well between us ,

maybe if you do the same ,then she will know its not your birds ,and she will be more then happy with that

Thanks Eagleowl if she does actually complain to me or the council i will suggest this hopefully she will see reason.

Many thanks.

whe my neighbour suggested my pigeon was messing on her washing i simply asked her which one it was and i would neck it, never heard another whisoer from her before handshe was threating this that and the other

its not often pigeons drop their poo when flying, if they did it would make one lot of mess if u have 30-40 birds flying out, i never see anything dropping from them when flying.

have u ever saw anything dropping from a batch of racing birds flying

WHEN THEY FLY FOR NEARLY  AN HOUR IT'S LIKE BOMBS AWAY GINGER WHEN THEY GET NEAR THE LOFT :o;) ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Pigeons do not poo on the wing, they tend to poo while perching or roosting. I told the planning and enviromental health that and they accepted it, True or false I do not care. Yet to see one poo on the wing. Chickadees washing is out most days beside the cotes and lofts never gets any on it unless one sits on the washing line :-/

We have been through the mill with nuisance neighbours, keep your area clean and tidy and there is nothing they can do except cause you hassle.

Funny thing on the face of it, we get on with all our neighbours :-/
