there has been one under way for a long time in scotland but the rspb make sure it dont last long

Same as you I have doubts about the rspb allowing it to succeed, but the guy said the programme was well on it's way  :-/

they have been in this country for years and havent heard of many cats jack russels getting taken

from what ive heard they can take anything up to a roe deer, there are some "wild ones " about , but if there is a sustained release they will almost certainly reach towns and villages,  these birds are capable of raising 2 clutches of 4  a year,

That is the, and will be the, problem for them, it is ok us wanting the hawk balance addressed but as soon as they attack something cute and furry petwise, the media will have a field day and backed with the RSPB.

Culling will be ok then :-/

i bl--dy well hope so the west lomond hill is a nesting site because of its rocky surface and hard to get to the site .
