i had a nightmare trying to 'give away' 2 quality show exhibition fantails and i made the point that if i had asked for money and offered loads of bogus history about the birds they would have moved sooner !! (the thread was removed because it did not help the guy trying to sell /give away his birds.....understandable )

I think Gangsters right, let's give the guy a decent hand, surely amongst us all we can get him up and running.

Knowing gangater the way i do i can vouch that he knows the time of day and would not just dive in head first with the head down without asking a few pertinent questions to gaddo, nobody should have to give their lifestory just to get a few pigeons to get them up and running.

For every coxy there are 10,20 maybe more decent newbie's looking for a leg up, if i can help in any way gaddo just let me know mate if your good enough for gangster your good enough for me, i myself got started by asking for help on here so it would be nice to return the favour to someone else.

 

i agree with celtic wholeheartedly ,, there are more genuine guys than" others " and "others" usually get found out,, so dont let the minority stop us from helping the majority ,,,,,,they need our help gennuinly and get it gennuinly , and its just as pleasing to give than receive :)   good luck all new starters

well hello everyone ...im a new starter ...i hope and know the godfather will check this out ..i am going to cabra club tomorrow night in dublin to get accepted ....if anyone knows anyone in the club get them to check it out ...listen i only asked for a hand if your not willing to help thats far enough ...just thought you should be encouraging young people to the sport but i see why they dont bother as its too hard for them ....ill be on here all the time check that out aswell ... thanks gangster for the help ..... other help still appreciated ...plus anyone will be welcome to see my loft and see i have 7 pigeons so far ...thank you for your time ....

Hi Gladdo, hows it going,

I only live up the road in Ballyfermot, I belive we share a mutual friend in Stephen Towell (poor *expletive removed* done his back in and is in agony at the moment)

 

I had a bit of bad luck during the close season with my stock cocks had to kill half of them, only left me with 7 but between the lads up in the Sarsfield RPC Im sure we can sort out a few young birds for you.

 

I will give Stephen a buzz tomorrow and we will sort something out.

 

Welcome to the sport mate, and dont make the same mistake I made, more time in the loft and less time on the computer ;)

All new fanciers need someone to take them under their wing, offer advice, interest in what they're doing, time, birds and whatever else. It has been really good reading some of the posts by new fanciers who owe their participation in the sport to that person who helped them in. Indeed if it hadn't been some similar help and advice I would have never stuck it out in the sport, and what then, no Pigeonbasics :o ;D

I joined the forum a couple of weeks ago and although i haven't posted other than looking for a breeder of white racers which are required for my grand daughter ...to purchase...( she already has names chosen for them ... Ice man - snow queen etc ) I have found the other posts to be very informative and look forward to joining in at a later date

agree with you all on that kev,,,after the coxy saga,i was just wondering if oldguy was really genuine,,,,not saying he`s not genuine,just being cautious,not many come on here looking for pigeons for a 4 year old(i believe)....just seemed a bit funny thats all and i hope i offend no one over it !!!!!
