Sad news for Bristol Fanciers

On the 29th of december im doing an auction for an old timer in Bristol called Mike Oakley who is very ill, he has a super old team of Busschaerts that has brought him alot of success. we are having a sale in our local clubhouse and there are sure to be lots of bargains. They were all bred down from original Larkins and Palmer birds. He never kept stock pigeons so the whole family had to race right through to the end. Opening bids £15

Just to add, Mike has been diagnosed with lung Cancer so its inperative that he parts with the brids.

 

As Mike is a club mate i wont be charging any auctioneering fees, the venue is free as is the pens and helpers so everything raised will go to Mike to help him in the future.

 

This is a real opertunity to get some real pigeons at proper prices, i might pop round on the weekend and take some pics as im sure the PB members would love the opertunity to grab these birds at real bargain prices.

sounds great. bargain prices and something for next to nothing. a lifetimes work and a probable limited future due to this horrifc illness. good to see we are trying to help. "real bargain prices" disgusting.

I dont really no where your coming from but i will explain where im coming from, Mike needs to part with his birds, 73 in all, he isnt big on pedigree but he is a very good flyer and he does have great birds.

 

Mike does not care how much his birds make he would just like to see them go to a good home!!! So the important thing for me is to sell 73 birds.

 

Im trying to drum up a bit of interest and its often the case that if people think they will get a bargain they will turn up to the sale.

 

My priority is to get the birds from Mike address as soon as possible as they are causing him distress.

    You do not know the man concerned or what he has said to Mr Wilcox he will just be hoping for a good home for his birds and less stress for his family.

Think before you speak it helps im sure Mr Wilcox will do a good job for all concened.

i feel it could have been put much better.  "pigeons at proper prices" "real bargains" not bargains at someones expense. thats all. I am sure that when the poster is doing other auctions £10-£15 wold not be considered "proper prices". I do not understand the idea of creating a situation where buyers are encouraged to bid low because of the circumstances.

Well I think if mike just gets his birds off to good homes, it'll help put his mind at rest as you say and his family, so I think you're doing a good job in trying to help him swilcox so good luck in the sale of the birds.

People often dont go to sales as they think they cant afford to buy. I was just pointing out that wiith 73 birds from a local flyer there will be pigeons to suit every pocket.

first of all please pass on my regards to mike and his family please stuart.....

 

secondly i`m sure if mike was having an entire clearance not due to ill health these birds would be starting at a higher price.these bird certainly come into there own on those long hard day`s.mike and his birds exceled across the channel he was the man to beat on the long races..if you had a bird in front a mike you knew you had a good bird.his bird`s record`s speak for themselves.......i wish him luck for the future.
