cass04 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 hi guys , was looking for a few oppions . i bought some health products in good faith from a very well known pigeon auction site, but only recieved half of what was advertised. i phoned up to complain and i was told it was an advertisement error and i would not be recieving the rest of the order. i told them i could of bought what i got cheaper at my local store and they said ' you are only trying it on as you knew how much this stuff costs'. im out off pocket because of there error .......am i wrong in demanding what was advertised ??????
REDCHEQHEN Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Have you got a copy of the advertisement? And a copy of your order?
jimmy white Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Have you got a copy of the advertisement? And a copy of your order? if you have,, you have them over a barrel
cass04 Posted January 2, 2008 Author Report Posted January 2, 2008 i have a copy of the order but i have just checked the web site and they have changed it.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 i have a copy of the order but i have just checked the web site and they have changed it. don't think it will matter if they have changed it, if you have the original copy you should still be okay
cass04 Posted January 2, 2008 Author Report Posted January 2, 2008 i dont want to name the web site as there is still a chance that this issue can be resloved . but its a very very well known english site
jimmy white Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 i have a copy of the order but i have just checked the web site and they have changed it. then there must be more caught out :-/
Guest Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Its not as straight forward as it might seem. Much same as an item displayed at the wrong price on the shelf, or in the shop window, and the seller can't be held to sell at that price if they say its the wrong price. If you feel you haven't had the bargain you expected, and can get it cheaper elsewhere, ask for the difference, or a full refund, and send the stuff back.
Guest karl adams Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 if they new the add was wrong they should have sent your money back and explained , why send you goods that are not compleat in your order noing you would complain i would name and shame them
schouwman71 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Tell them if they dont stick to the original order what they advertised you will write up and discrace them in the B.H.W and be sure of it they will lose custom.Has i wouldnt want to buy from people like that.it costs enouth to start with.and you have got them over a barrel if you have the orig copy of the order, especially if they have cashed your cheque.
cass04 Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 i wasnt getting to far with them until i mentioned putting it on the internet and in the b.h.w . but one of the writers for the b.h.w also ownes this web site????
REDCHEQHEN Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 i wasnt getting to far with them until i mentioned putting it on the internet and in the b.h.w . but one of the writers for the b.h.w also ownes this web site???? and theres plenty of others who write in the BHW who also come on this web site write a letter for the letters page - you can e-mail it to editor@britishhomingworld.co.uk they're short of letters - none published last week ;D If you have a printed recept for what you bought (or thought you were buying ) - and you paid by credit card - dispute it through your credit card provider - if there was a problem with the price they should not have sent anything out - and should have got in touch with you and told you - not sent half an order and said tough I think thats shocking - and doesn't sound legal - its like buying a 40 inch TV at a bargain price and they send you a 20 inch instead - you wouldn't put up with that would you?
frank-123 Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 contact your local trading standards ask for advice
ray Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 i don't give a monkeys hoot who owns it. if they've ripped you off, get there name in print others will stop buying off them they don't give a hoot about you. other wise they would of refunded your money by now,the person who owns this web site and writes for the homing world if this is whats happened to you, him and others should back you to the hilt, get them name and shamed, even if you don't get your money back. it will make other people think twice as pigeon gear is over priced anyway.get a letter into the homing world and racing pigeon. put there name up and people will email them and tell them we won't be buying of them anymore, if thereat blackpool take your sandwich board and walk up and down in front of there stand or outside, they'll soon be out with your refund and extras
