Roland Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Don't cost oat to build a loft. Factories have Pallets that they'd be pleased to shift. Tip for wire mesh and ole nails and screws straighten... Infact lol I was straightening a few my self this last few day. I - like many others would breed you a pair, so you'd start with top birds.
Guest dogeon Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 and why not try and get a Funds for all lottery grant for your ets clock theres always ways around things its just knowing where and who

homer Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 theres a member on here called karl adams who recently posted pics of a superb loft he built with recycled materials. it only cost him £13 !!!! give him a pm , im sure he'd give you some tips. also what about buying a 2nd hand garden shed and converting it. ive converted 2 garden sheds in my time. cheaper than building from scratch.
darkknight Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 thank you all but i think i better leave the forums for a bit it seems im upsetting people else were not here so far good luck to you all see you soonish
Guest MBpigeonguy Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 i have 5 lofts and i paid nothing!! to build them, has someone showed you the beginner lofts? they are cheap and there is room for 30 birds per loft, i have 10 beginners lofts, all put together and if u put 3 together u have a whole loft, it takes about 7 sheets of wood for one, the clcok can wait, till you know feeding and have trained, i have no clock yet, first i want to know feeding and i want my birds trained well, maby your club has a spare clock? like ours, or maby some one might pass and u will buy the clock for cheap? hang on, i left last year thinking the same thing, i made the biggest mistake in my life!!!! now im back with new birds and a huge loft, now i chould not get my hands on the old birds i had, and i wish i would not have left, caause now i cant get the birds back i had, but i have new ones just as good and maby better but i still miss my old birds,
The White Rapido Man Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 my first loft was made out of a large potatoe crate....cost em nowt..and chicken wire I knicked for the aviary of an empty council house. I will breed you a few pairs to get you started.......just dont be a defeatest. Only thing got in hurry is kids mate...get a few birds this year...breed a few ..get to know your birds..ask questions....LEARN....... seed is cheap..... its a shame that so many people in this day an age see money an obsticle in these materialistic days we live in ...pigeon keeping needn't be expensive...its a working mans hobby. If you can afford to race then its no big deal......... breed a babbie or two...and let a friend race for you!!
coey Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 ive not had birds long myself. i lost most of my birds, was left with 3 out of 19. and was going to give up. but now in glad i didnt. you are welcome to come and have a look around my loft, see if you can take away some ideas mate.
883girl Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 You don't have to spend a fortune on getting a loft - we bought what used to be a chipmunk house out of the local paper. 15 x 8 and cost us £80, we spent another £50 making it suitable for the doos and then hubbie built the perches himself. All in all we were ready for doos within about a month and cost us about £150 including the lick of paint we gave it. It is big enough for what we wanted. You dont have to go mad, not yet at least, how do you know that you even like the sport yet? Start simple i say and build up as you go along ;D
darkknight Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 thanks all you all great people but here is why its so hard for me to get anythink home .. i live here i have no car and one bus a day i live in the middle of that

All the pricing I done for you was easy, so don't feel obliged because of that, you can get reclaimed timber a lot cheaper, why not just start of with a cheap garden shed or even a rabbit hutch setup I know a guy that has loads of hutches against a wall insite an aviary and also the same under his car port :-/ Good members on here will always help you out with birds etc
frank-123 Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 i have an old clock you can get for nothing

Andkar Lofts Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 darknight don't PACK UP', there are ways /means round everything, i started by dividing garden shed in 1/2 ,1 side for birds ,other side for tools etc ..........birds where fine . there was a scribe in the bhw ....who flew his birds to individual rabbit hutch set up , admittedly was to elimante aggravating chest complaint ..so didnt have to enter a loft .. known people fly to boxes on flat balconys ...........STICK IN THERE ............
tommy d Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 the first loft i had cost nothing, built it with old doors, covered with tarpaulin off the back of a hgv

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 i dont want to give up but i cant build it out of any old thing my landlord would just make me take it down the only way he will let me have it is if it looks dam good unfortunately that is the way with some landlords, they think you have to build something like a mansion when all you want is a place to keep your pigeons
