budgie Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Further to receiving the SNFC minutes and the proposals for the race programme where on earth are we in the West/North going to find pigeons and the numbers required to compete in Two Indland Nationals , Four Channel Races and not forgeting the Fed Channel Race. Its time we were going back to just having Two Nationals( ie Rennes and Nantes) for increased birdage and a gamble and leave the other races to the Federations. Give the Federations some much needed revenue as without them there will be no National.
Taylorsloft Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 aberdeen fed are going 3 fed races with the s n f c its about time other feds did the same .

Fair Play Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Good idea Aberdeen should also help to make it a bit cheaper if the transporters are full and the birds a better chance to make it home with the greater numbers. There used to be three Nat. races Avranches (Falaise) Rennes & Nantes plus Fed & or Combine races

frank-123 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 fed's should stick with inland and the national club should be across the water
me Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 fed's should stick with inland and the national club should be across the water correct Bart lad think you're getting the hang of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
frank-123 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 after your words of wisdom last night i listened
Taylorsloft Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 your not getting the point . so u would go to maidstone with your fed .instead of the s n f c .if i went with my fed be lucky if there was 250 birds
frank-123 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 what did aberdeen always go with the snfc or did you tie up with another fed east feds could go together west feds could go together two combines or maybe all go together scottish fed's combine so your 250 birds would join dundee then fife then the lothians and border's all going together to maidstone
wullie semple Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 there was never a problem when there was 2 sartillys rennes and nantes this is what the distance men want 500ml racing all the best 2008
THE FIFER Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 this is certainly the modern way to go, there are to many organisations going down to race points with half emty transporters, and with the price of fuel etc this is very costly, not only that it would be a lot better for the birds getting up with other libs on the same line than lots of small libs,
frank-123 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 correct wullie if the feds could get there act together and stop sending across the water maybe the snfc would stop the inland nationals it cost our fed a fortune to go accross to france
budgie Posted January 9, 2008 Author Report Posted January 9, 2008 there was never a problem when there was 2 sartillys rennes and nantes this is what the distance men want 500ml racing all the best 2008 Wullie i agree with you but with the shortage of gid doos would it no make sense for the Lanarkshire Fed to Duplicate in one off the Sartillys it would help the National for Birdage and it would certainaly help the doo man. One set doos competing for two races and not forgeting the expense in training. Happy New Year.
wullie semple Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 yes budgie your correct but try telling the fed that you get shoot down
Taylorsloft Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 the way things are going we will soon be all racing together. the whole of scotland should be racing together at the likes of maidstone. now that would be something worth wining
me Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 the way things are going we will soon be all racing together. the whole of scotland should be racing together at the likes of maidstone. now that would be something worth wining The problem with that is people like to get a fly from the coast from their yearlings and the inland national is already a problem as its too early in the season. Plus if someone from the west of the country was brave enough, or should that be daft enough, to allow promising yearlings to be liberated from Maidstone with a large convoy of birds travelling up the east coast tramlines he would almost certainly get what he deserves!
Taylorsloft Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 you send your birds and take your chance .i send to almost every s n f c race what chance have i got of winning the s n f c .but i still compete.and have had some good open results from across the water .

Thats great pleased to hear it but racing yearlings into the west of the country can be a dfficult past time. Good luck in the "proper" nationals from france this year Taylorsloft.
budgie Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 If the proposal does go through we all know its not " Compulsory " to compete in all races ,but most like to win averages be it Club,Fed or the Icing on the Cake would be the SNFC. To compete in this programme the yearlings could hopefully compete in the Inland Nationals but for the Channel Races you are going to need a good team off around twenty 2 yearolds and upwards of which some would have to be doubled up to have any chance to compete for your Section Averages within this Great Club.Time will tell and good luck to everone who has the bottle and more importantly the numbers to compete. :)
wullie semple Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 BUDGIE I DONT THINK THINK YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE TWENTY IN THE PAST I HAVE SENT ONE AND BEEN WELL IN
sammy Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 the way things are going we will soon be all racing together. the whole of scotland should be racing together at the likes of maidstone. now that would be something worth wining was the reverend not the one who had a vision a number of years ago in trying to organise something like this and majority of feds were against it ,maybe wrong but me thinks it was on these lines how times change

Taylorsloft Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 the frist inland from frome was won in the west sec i think it was a south wind.i no what it must be like to fly into the west against the wind . but some day your ship might come in
