swilcox Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 My partner in Holland Raymond Moleveld rang me on monday full of excitment. One of his satelite racing lofts had won 5ft against 40174 pigeons in a hard east wind. I congratulated him and then i sat back and thought of the glory of winning such a race with such high birdages. Yet in reality even though we have twice the number of fanciers we dont have such an event in the UK, what a shame!!!!!! It some times makes me a little jealous. Can we not use Pigeon Basics as a platform to organise a Blue Chip Race once a year? Maybe one to cover the south coast to Manchester including wales (lets say Nantes) and one from Manchester up including all of Scotland, and N Ireland. (lets say Piccauville). All birds to be marked at clubs and brought to a meeting place by the feds and transported to the race point. We could call it the United Kingdom Grand National!!!!!!! Happy Days Stuart
Guest Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 that would be such a good race but i could never see it happening. the nfc, midlands national, csfc, and the big organisations should arange one big joint lib with the normal nationals been flown within a grand national.
westburylofts Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 As long as they take it away from the french coast and take it into central france say Tours it would be a great idea Ray
Guest Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Don't forget we have North Road fliers in the U.K. Frank Tasker
bewted Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 this would be a brilliant race, but, who is capable of organising such an event?, mr s wilcox i propose you for getting it started, your idea,,,,,anyone agree with this? ted
sj irving jnr Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 i hope it will happen one day that would be pigeon racing at its best i can just see williamson and evans going head to head!! bring it on!!!!!
bewted Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 wonder what ever happened to this idea ?????
Roland Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Up the West coast and even over to the Isles..... With west in wind, most would have a sensible race eh!
jonny Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Don't forget we have North Road fliers in the U.K. Frank Tasker nice pic frank see you on the coach. john
Roland Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 The NRCC only caters for the East Coast Boys, and further have taken / took diabolical liberaties with the inland flyers. Any race that is predominated via the mpstly prevalent West in the wind, is just an exercise for the Positioned lofts to have field days in all regards. Any Race that wants to show genuine 'Merit' to the Better birds, must have sections, and also aimed to be liberated where most have a A. helping Wind, or a headish wind for ALL. Like A boat release, or from the most reasonable EASTERN liberation suitable amd reasonablely possible. Shrewed 'Buyers' of decent pigeons look where the Birds are flying to and how well they fared.
