Has anybody tried one as a sparrow hawk detterrent? I know they cost around £60 but well worth the investment if it works.

Save your money, just like the plastic owls it will work for a few weeks until the hawks get used to them, sure you can keep moving them around but at the end of the day it will only protect your birds while they are on the roof [where they shouldn't be anyway!],once they are in the sky nothing will protect them

globes and owls only if anythbing kepp them away from ur loft, its when ur birds are flying that the hawks will still get them, so i would say no good, you can do the same thing by putting mirrors around ur loft,

a large mirror can sometimes be effective on the top of your loft because the reflection if its sunny can deter the hawks

If you want to do something then just tie some old cds up on strings around the loft area, will work about as well as the mirror ball but at least its free!!

Tammy 1 !!!!!!!  ;D ;D ;D I might just take up your suggestion  ;) ;) (Could work, reasonable suggestion) Trouble is ???????  :D :D :D I would need quite a few of them etc  :P :P :P Cause, when the little black flash/flashes  :) :) :) are out for a bit of enjoyment as such  :D :D :D I would more than likely, be throwing them at him in desperation  :P :P :P. You could say.

Enjoy.
