PIGEON_MAN Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 ets wins another vote so no time pen so much for the majority of the membership if only i could fly in ireland the only men with the guts to say no Anyone can say no nobody is forcing anybody to have it.
pjc Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 if you don't like it don't have it! Its also the members that don't want it that have given themselves another time penilty! More than one rubber can be placed in a thimble again, so how many will wast seconds trying to catch a 2nd and 3rd bird to get the rubbers into the 1st thimble? This is the 21st century, isn't it?
Back garden fancier Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 What about those who are last all the time? I admit that most of the time I'm at the back of the bunch! I enjoy flying my pigeons and wait until the last one gets back before relaxing. I might get ETS, but I know it won't turn me into a winner so once most people have ETS then the results will be just the same as they are now.
andy Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 ets wins another vote so no time pen so much for the majority of the membership if only i could fly in ireland the only men with the guts to say no Maybe you should go to somewhere with sand and bury yer heid in it, dingal. Nobody forcing you to use ets
Guest spin cycle Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 ets wins another vote so no time pen so much for the majority of the membership if only i could fly in ireland the only men with the guts to say no i think you're being a bit hard on him. the main problem is that it was brought in undemocratically and since then it appears that the 'pro' camp, far from being pleased, has seeked to gain every other advantage it can, shouting down it's critics in the process. for some it is the final straw and they are quitting, they may not be replaced. what good is ets if your clubs workers quit and the club folds (no-one gets to fly).ets was supposed to be about 'inclusion' instead it gives the impression that it's a 'tool' to enhance the results of racing studs. ets will have to come for me ,not because i want it, but because as the club work burden falls on fewer shoulders we will have to look for labour saving devices. i'm against time penalties(to complex), but the recent case of a lawyer being used to overturn one is,to me , not sporting. that is what we aspire to be.....isn't it.
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Wether you think it was bought in undemocratically or not is neither here or there ,the elected council of the RPRA decided that it was in the best interests of the RPRA that they voted it in at the time,I believe it was the RPRA,S own solicitors that advised them to.You say for some this was the final straw so they have quit,to me quitting because a new clocking system is introduced is a very poor excuse.Do you really think that the racing studs as you put it are going to be enhanced because of ets,if it was that easy every one would by one.
Tony C Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Wether you think it was bought in undemocratically or not is neither here or there ,the elected council of the RPRA decided that it was in the best interests of the RPRA that they voted it in at the time,I believe it was the RPRA,S own solicitors that advised them to. I was under the impression that the introduction of ETS was voted against (last year) and the decision overturned by the emergency rules committee. :-/
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 I was under the impression that the introduction of ETS was voted against (last year) and the decision overturned by the emergency rules committee. :-/ Your right Tony the vote did go against it last year, not sure if it was council or the emergency rules committee that overturned it but I know it was on the advise of the RPRA,S solicitors that they did.
tskyes Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 WELL I THINK ETS IS HERE FOR GOOD SO LETS JUST ENJOY ARE PIGEON RACING,ALL THE BEST FOR 2008 GUYS AND DOLLS
