Guest casbri Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 i feel very dissapointed as well the bid on 46 should be mine
jimmydoo Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Can understand you feel disappointed. I bid for lot 46 at 20.56hrs last night, by 'phone, this was my 2nd bid. This was within the time frame rules. I realise that people running auction were busy at time and probably did not have time to continually update the site. I wish to assure you that this bid was not made after the closing time. Good luck with future bids.
Webmaster Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 I can only apologise and inform you both that I am doing everything I can to resolve the situation. Last night I received a bid by Casbri at 8:26pm through an email. The list was duely updated slightly later. I received a telephone bid at 8:55pm from jimmydoo. The list was updated during this time, but somehow the bid at 8:55 was missed. The lot along with many others was marked closed at approx 9:20pm. All I can say is that at 9pm we were inundated with PMs and telephone calls; and somewhere along the line the transfer from notepad to computer this bid went astray. This is wholly my fault. I will be again in touch with the members involved as soon as I can.
Webmaster Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 A huge thank you to Mick McGrevy who has offered a second pair of birds in this case. I have PMd you all to let you know. My apologies again, and thanks to Mick.
jimmydoo Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Well done to Mick. A truly sporting gesture.
Guest j v ward Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 i would like to thankthe webmaster for sorting it out and also mick mc grevy for is offer a true sportsman
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Well done Mick and also to Richard on dealing with the situation that can happen very easy when running this type of successful auction, at the end of the day we are only human to the odd error which is down to tiredness and pressure at that time. Cheers
Roland Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Ah .... a happy ending then. I might add that this was made possible by A. genuine error, Mick's great offer of course (well done, proud of yer) and the realistic understanding of Casbri and J. V., good too see commonsense prevail too. I went yesterday with Joyce to buy a car for her. We agreed a price, and left to collect the monies. Joyce mucked up with the cash in the wall, want why she couldn't get a grand or two out! Well we explained and shook hands on the deal. Joyce fetch money out this morning ... tonight just before we set off to get it, he texted us to say he had sold the car, and would we like another ...
billy wilson Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 mick you are a true gentleman all the best to you and the lads involved ;D ;D ;D ;D

Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 Guess its important to say, we should understand just what hard work, both in effort and time, with this kind of thing. Been following things closely and would like to say, you are all a credit to our sport, well done. All the best to all in 08 Cheers Rab (I'll be back) Smith
