oldguy Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 What are the legal procedures and requirements to go over to Holland, Belgium, etc, and bring back a couple of pair of birds Kev
gangster Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 you need an import licsence plus birds must be vaccinated and a vet certificate....plus declare them at port coming back and you will have no problems....lizzy rigby vets can supply import papers
Guest ljb107 Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 just ask a vet over there to check the birds out and he will give you the papers. Normally they will do it free of charge plus if you want cheap wormer and stuff like that they will normally sell it to you very cheap. You will also need to phone defra and tell them when you are going and when you are coming back and how many birds you taking over/bringing back. Lloyd

REDCHEQHEN Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 If you are bringing 5 or less back per person - you only need the vaccination form which the breeder should provide - and the ring cards DEFRA is not involved 1. “Pet birds” are considered to be all species of birds (except poultry as detailed below) which are accompanying their owners, or a natural person responsible for such animals on behalf of the owner during their movement, and are not intended to be sold or transferred to another owner. 5. 5 pet birds or fewer moved into the UK do not need to be accompanied by a licence, serve home quarantine upon arrival or have any inspection visits by a Local Veterinary Inspector (LVI). 6. Five or fewer pet birds may be imported per person, or a natural person responsible for the pet birds. http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/int-trde/imports/iins/birds/a11.htm
