the man or the pigeon?

there has been talk of late about how great certain birds are [and how much you have to pay to have them ;D ;D ;D]now, do you think that winning with pigeons is down to the man/woman or the pigeons ?

60 % Fancier 35% Pigeons, and importantly 5% environment.

id say on longer distances its the pigeon hard to say tough one that when u take every thing in to consideration

Yup... the further you fly , the more the bird comes in to it.. still needs the right grub, conditions and motivation though.  Wouldnt even start to think on putting figures on the subject.

Have to say kind f agree with you mate prob different % for different birds and different races.Bus as i said earlier the environment around our birds play a big part in how successful we are.

Well i'll tell you a wee story about a pair of y/b's i got gifted to me last year and i was told if i looked after them they would do well

1st y/b race 1 of them came up the park and as i was working the wife was there to see them in as i have ETS but this pigeon landed on top of the aviary and sat there for over a minute before she came in : result 2nd club (beat by a yard) 7th west section 12th open in the fed 7'000 birds (she was all pools and acc aswell and the only bird i pooled as i was sure i would get her :'( :'( :'( ) then come the 4th race it's nest mate turns up to win the club from nearly 500 birds so gifted birds certainly played their part for me last year

Alf i was just thinking thats what makes the one loft raced an exciting prospect, they are all kept in the same environment. This fact may just through up some funny results,a fact that should encourge the small fancier to compete

i think it is mainly down to management of the team but you have to have good stock aswell id say 60% fancier 40% birds
