cokacola Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 I was thinking about this today, what happens if the person where birds are being delivered isn't at home when Amtrak call? Do you have to collect from the depot? Or do they get returned to the sender automatically? Also can you leave a note on the door telling the driver to leave them somewhere?
gangster Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 yes if you leave them a note they will drop them for you. and i think they go back to the depot but they do phone you as a rule .....
Guest j v ward Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 give them a phone call they will make arrange ments with you
Peckedhen Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 AMTRAK!! Don't mention them! A couple of weeks ago I was singing their praises. On Friday, I arranged for two lots of birds to be collected from here today and delivered to the London area, with buyers paying COD. This morning I got a call from them telling me that I would have to ring the London depts to arrange it as they couldn't do it from this end! One London dept didn't answer, despite my hanging on for ages; the other said that they wanted the cash before they would pick up the birds at their end! I explained that that wasn't COD but she wouldn't have it - just kept repeating that it was their policy. What a mess! > >
