is the secs job worth the hassle?

Well i,ve just checked back and find that i,m just coming up to my 25th year as Secretary,Treasurur,Clock Setter,(also for the NFC and MCC,)Ring Secretary,Fed official,on the Fed management committee,sorted out everthing for the Ets in the club (Bricon and Unikon) and anything else that needs to be done in the club. Am I mad or what.Dont get me wrong we have a great bunce of members who will help out at Basketking etc.but as secretary I know if I do it myself I know its been done.I do think it takes a certain kind of fancier to become a secretary etc,so I say if you cant give 150%to the job dont take it on because you are letting the other members down.

i'm not the sec. but i appreciate what he does and our clocksetters. i do a good shift on the transport but its got to the stage that when i turn up they naturally expect i'm taking the birds to the transporter (25 miles). i havn't raced for 3 wks (work) and while i've not been there the clocksetters have had to take the birds as the rest 'couldn't' ...it makes me spit. having said that perhaps we are all suffering from  'of end of season clubworker fatigue'. come next season we'll do it all again...because the others will only 'expletive removed* it up if we don't'

We have been club secs for 4 years and this will be our last. We have brought our club upto date in many ways, but one partnership have made a very enjoyable hobby into one that i no longer want to be part of . This partnership are very good at winning and have done alot of work over the years but always for their own best interest. We too are good with the pigeons 8 1st this year. But all work done for the club is for the good of all members. We both work full time in stressfull jobs and i feel i will be letting other members down as every other member supports us. But i still feel any job/official position brings trouble in pigeon clubs and for that reason NO its not worth it to answer your question.
