hi been doing alott of reading on this forum about feeding my birds and there is that much advice i really dont know where to start. can any one give me a run down of what to feed when although it seems this topic is one that fanciers dont like to delve into that deep as everyone has there own secret recipe which i totally understand but just some rough guidelines would be great

thanks in advance

I feed Versa Laga energy plus all year round , I raced on it , rear on it, and do not ever change it, just add slight about 20% barley in november and december, thats it, no secret but at £15.35 a 18 kg bag it is not cheap. but then the best never is.

keep less pigeons and then feed better corn...... is the answer

My advice would be to learn the value of fats, carbohydrates, & protein, all grains have them but in different percentages. Your pigeons needs differ at certain times of the year and for set tasks ahead. I think by following someone else’s program you’re going about it the wrong way, best learnt through trial and error.

p.s I’m still trail & error’ing  :)

Glad to be of help Damien.

There are lots of ways to feed and many products to put in the water. This is just one of them.

Bottom line is Good pigeons,in good health, get them fit, educate them on the road, get a good motivational system.Unfortunately you have to do your bit and put in lots of effort.Get the above right and you won't go far wrong.

Many unsuccessful fanciers blame their birds or the ventilation in loft or anything they can think of!!! but the bottom line is that they are normally to blame, with their lack of effort.

Thats just my opinion.Best of luck with your racing mate.
