The Navigator Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 The trouble is there are always people who for whatever brainless reason do things like this. I have visited fanciers lofts in the past and they must hold about 10 strappers. When you ask them what they are thay have got no clue and the poor fancier who lost them as no clue either.
just ask me Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 racing pigeons and winning with them requires a lot of things to come togeather at the one time to win and i found probally the best thing to have on your side apart from good birds of course is LUCK and these things seem to bite u on the *expletive removed* when u do things like this
robbie1 Posted September 4, 2008 Author Report Posted September 4, 2008 it happend to me once before chris in 2002 i lost a youngster on first race from littlehampton 92 mile he turned up 8 month later still with rubber on but very perished covered in lice been living rough ,in 2003 season as a yearling that pigeon won me 3 channel races in the club from 200 mile to 335 mile being in top 10 of combine on each occasion, this pigeon was the sire of the grizzle that has turned up today!!!!!!!

I got a stray in with our race birds the other day, took rubber ring off put into sickbay pen; fed and watered till next day. Drove it about 10-mile away and turned it lose!!!! Don't know if owner got bird or not!!!! I feel I did my part. The bird had a nice breeding eye as I ever saw, hope he went home!!!!! jimbobboyUSA

Guest strapper Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 back last season i walked out to my loft and turned to see a bird on the roof..he looked like it wanted to come down so i called it, it came down and walked straight into the loft. i caught it up and i thought i recognised the number. so went in the house ..found out it was my bird with someones phone ring on it. i rang them up to find they had raced it and scored with it..12th fed to be exact. i asked them wot they were doing with ,my bird..reply i transffered it over a year ago. this bird was missing 2 years. i finally through investigation with the union that there had been a mix up with the birds number at the union office and the bird wasnt transferred..but they had transferred another number close to its number, one of my club m8s who had packed in the other number was. so i raced the bird..it went back to him 1st race..as it had to fly over his house. but everytime he let it out it came home here. we exchanged the bird over 3 times till it dissapeared to date.
