allwhites Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 In 2001 i walked into our young bird loft to find 40 dead young, one with its crop hanging out and one untouched, still have nightmare now and ours was rats, dug a sewer up in the field 100 yards from the loft, to lose young was bad enough, to lose old birds that you race, know and love. My heart goes out to the lads.

Guest tom123 Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 has post on w s e nat web-site today SAD DAY FOR THE SPORT Sometime this morning Friday/Saturday 5/6 September someone broke into the lofts of GILL BROS & SON in the Rhondda and killed their birds. Who ever done this pulled the birds heads off and they have been totaly butcherd. All their hard work and deducation has been destroyed by some *expletive removed* or *expletive removed*. They has a partnership are totaly destroyed gutted and do not know what to do next. The amount of blood thats on the walls ceillings perches, floors who ever done this must have been covered in blood. Someone has blood on their hands disgrace who ever you are. I must note CCTV is in operation in the gardens only time for the company who installed it to decrypt the video Many birds fed winners, 4th national birds killed rhondda fed winners. They even when pulled off their heads put each birds head back on the perches and rafters totally sick who ever did this. 2 terriers in the gardens who were also beaten up and like to mention sad day to report a disgrace for the sport. Guest tom123 Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 ON BEHALF OF THE WELSH SOUTH EAST NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP AND IM SURE THE WELSH PIGEON FANCY HAS A WHOLE WE PASS ON OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHAY TO THE PARNERSHIP OF GILL BROS & SON OF THE RHONDDA ON THEIR HORRIFIC DISCOVERY THE MORNING
jimmy white Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 allthough this is a terrible thing to happen ,, i have to say ,,that using" jedburgh justice" [hang them first,,try them later ] is not the answer ,,my opinion is that , at this time gill bros would need all the support and help available , the results of the cctv should proove any wrong doing , and if any culprits are found , hope they are dealt with most severely
PigeonTracker Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Knowning the boys they are going to be devastated like any of us would be, lets hope the community mentallity we have in the valleys will expose them and the Gill's can gently reverse one of their skips over their heads. >
wings Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Sorry to hear that some scumbags have done this to another fancier i hope they are caught soon and get there just deserts. and hopefully before they do it to any body else.
hepste Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 As with any sane person, any act of this nature never fails to fill me with repulsion. It keeps happening, and the criminals rarely get caught. I suspect that in the case of pigeon fanciers, it is undoubtedly because the goods are pigeons, not hard cash, and not insured. I presume the matter has been reported to the police. I think the important thing is that they are fully aware of the financial loss incurred, that these birds are worth sometimes in total thousands. I can't imagine that if a proper scenes of crime investigation was undertaken, involving DNA, the case cannot be progressed, and the offender/s identified from the DNA database. I bet my last penny they've got form. Alternatively, you know it's surprising how much impact reward money can make. Would it not be possible to start a fund, to raise cash, to pay for information leading to a successful conviction. The final sum, say £500, could be handled by the police who could also deal with informants. There are lots of private companies who do operate their own reward system. Alternatively, the money could be used to hire a reliable PI. I just feel that little of practical use is ever done to catch the sub human species that perform these dreadful things.
paul10121968 Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 attacking peoples property isnt the answer,if you have a problem sort it out with the person concerned, this makes me think of the welsh transporter fire all those years ago, fanciers birds were coming home with horrific burns and many died in the fire, such a huge loss of great talent.
cemetary Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 If any one was to be caught for this, what happens to them, nowt, community service 100 hours if your lucky, what should happen is a chap at the door with the baseball bat with the nails in it, and give them a good hiding they will never forget. All help will be given on here with donations to get them back up and running and keep them in the sport they love,, hope the scumbags get what they deserve when caught. Hope the cctv captures all, and what a shame for the dogs getting a beaten, so i take it they will be punished hard from the RSPCA as well. Scum bags of the earth.

I agree that the penalties are poor. However, the important thing is that it gets them on record, and if the same thing happens again, the police know where to look.
flighty hen Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 Flighty, can you put them in touch with the forum as they will get plenty of help here? I asume the lofts are ok and its just the birds that have been killed? Sorry Phil for not answering, yes the lofts are ok I think, not too sure if they near house, I know there's a stock loft hasn't been touched apparently, but that's not near their main loft I gather, won't put too much detail here as don't know who's reading all this. I don't think Mike or Brian would be on here but maybe one of the sons, I'll find out.
