just ask me Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 are pigeons been tested for drugs and if so where and should it be part of the rules that so many lofts per fed be tested every year maybe its a rule allready
OLDYELLOW Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 pigeons are only tested if objections are made i believe
just ask me Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 pigeons are only tested if objections are made i believe shouldent be at least a routine check of winners where a fed has to send away so many lofts in a year do checks happen often
OLDYELLOW Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 very few if any as who would want to be pointing the finger
just ask me Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 very few if any as who would want to be pointing the finger ain't it a mad system ain't we so far behind with the money that involved now in racing and the prestige of pigeons winning certain races this so this is totally mad
OLDYELLOW Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 PART P: PERFORMANCE ENHANCING 199. The Council of the R.P.R.A. shall make rules and regulations prohibiting the use of performance enhancing drugs/substances. ChrisMaidment08 Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 in belgem in ithink 2005 85 top breeding lofts were raided and owners arrested for being in possion of drugs used in racing in cludeing speed anphetamin
just ask me Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 where do they get pigeon tested and what the costs
OLDYELLOW Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 i believe its done by regional secatary then test sent to belgium im not 100% sure , as for costs i think R.P.R.A pick up the tab or the person who made complaint im not 100% sure , a phone call to your regional secatary will give you the right answers , i dont imagine any of the dinosaurs use forums
just ask me Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 so u have to put your name to it this is totally mad cant see why there are not routine checks my god what a mad system surely every member would mind paying a extra few bob a year to get birds tested in there area and lofts can be done when a big winner comes up and a loft that flying really well as it stops all rumours all that as i belive it happens a good bit in our sport im far from saying that mu pile winners are using far from it but surely every fancier want to know there sport is clean this will become the biggest problem in our sport in the next 5 years and does anyone here know if there are any testing on don't need names or anything but is there anything been done and who thinks that there should be so many tests done in a year in there fed i thought that in this day and age surely this should be a minimum
OLDYELLOW Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 I believe that every club winner should be tested this could be done easily if via the droppings members would use small crates , absorbant sheets that are used by ambulances for soaking blood up could be quite easily put underneath floor grills and after race these sheets could be tested obviously names of fancier and club would have to be written on the sheets
The Game Keeper Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 hi there i have followed some lofts whatching results more so with young birds leaving feds standing if testing was made compulsary results would be different
pjc Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Test kits are available from the RPRA but i think they are tested in south africa now. Has anybody been found and proved to be using drugs in the UK? Everytime i've seen drug test results published they've been clear! Phil
just ask me Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 Test kits are available from the RPRA but i think they are tested in south africa now. Has anybody been found and proved to be using drugs in the UK? Everytime i've seen drug test results published they've been clear! Phil well im not hear to name names just cant belive its so relaxed and if u name names the thread could turn into something but this is totaly mad how relaxed it is
OLDYELLOW Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 best not to name names but you can have a chat with your regional secatary , im sure they'll advise you
pjc Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Results are published in the BHW and there are names that have been tested and come up clean. I'm sure a lot of these have been tested as a result of unfounded accusations from jeleous fanciers!
terry mccarthy Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 im afraid its all to easy to cover the use of drugs if someone is using drugs all they have to do is use catosal a drug which is high in demand in foreign countrys is epo masked with catosal no trace no matter wat the rpra do there allways be 1 step a head i really cant see the point of it racing for wat we race for over here but some people will do it just to win a fed these days i dont think we should kid ourselves that it dont happen because it does
jimmy white Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Results are published in the BHW and there are names that have been tested and come up clean. I'm sure a lot of these have been tested as a result of unfounded accusations from jeleous fanciers! many years ago, i was rumoured to have given my birds steroids , unfounded off course, but never tested [and me 8 stone 12 ;D] on basketing my birds on the friday, i simply remarked " see those 12 cocks in the basket,,,,,,well they used to be hens" ;D ;D true,,,, [quieted one jealous fancier ;D]
just ask me Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 does anyone else think that is a comical situation
Tony C Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Do the RPRA really want drug tests to take place?
just ask me Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 that i what i was thinking too but dont we all want to know we are in a clean sport
Tony C Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 You’ve only got to read the BHW to know that everything’s rosy within the sport. Well that what they’d like us to believe anyway.
