Roland Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I often like I often harp on about this or that, most on deaf ears lol. But let's anno-lyse the costs and what one realistically would be happy with. Remembering that times change with the cost and style of living. For starters the cost of the mortgage, kids, and what not, a family can soon get unwanted tensions in today's society. Was a time when many were happy renting and saving a little and live on orange boxes till a ole stool or bench was found lol. But again my real big bug bind in this regards is the stupid scenario's one often hear about why folks pack up, or don't come into this - or any other sport. I shall state here and now the unfair pressure placed on fancier to 'Be a part of' and striving for unrealistic goals. the stupid and very harsh brush tarnishing then with unfair scenarios to better their own coffers. A stigma for not wanting to, or willing to 'Win at all costs' as if this is in some way what competing and enjoying is all about! Rubbish, taking part with a wing and prayer, accepting losing gracefully with no scorn coming their way is a beauty all unto it's self I feel. Those a bit better off, constantly trying to feather their own nests, and belittle those, intentionally or not, if they can't afford it, or better still NOT ABLE! Not everyone can master the simple reality of racing pigeons. IT'S NOT A 'A rocket SCIENTIST' game. BUT most haven't got a born in natural affinity to succeed. Like all walks of life and pastimes. Many, yes very many indeed, were, and would be happy with a few birds, the odd good performance, and a contented household. Yes too many are too proud to admit they can't AFFORD, and don't want to be fodder, plying cash into the more fortunates coffers. MOST would be very happy just to be in a realistic, sensible SECTION, for starter. And remember above all, the good club man is often the least successful. Let them / us JUST enjoy and pay a few bob towards being happy and content with their simple and realistic happy past time. We don't ALL want to be winners, especially at any cost. We don't need, nor want the pressures of Winning at all costs' A happy home life and content with a few birds with a little success augers well for most. NO nor do we want to be 'Top Dogs', just the odd feeling of being appreciated and dream and above all to
