Change of colour

Many of us had a pigeon go through the moult with a change of colour. ?  I have what was young Bl turned into a yearling Bl W Flt.

It happens mate Grizzles can get darker and reds gain black splashes.

Heterozygos ash red cocks tend to show more black splashes as they get older because they ash red gene seems to loose some of its dominance over the blue gene as the bird gets older

i thought it was similar acting as the almond gene as hes from a yellow cock ?

Yes,almonds tend to do a similar thing as they get older.Dont think the dilute gene has anything to do with this affect.
