about the colour of these two bird

I was listening as I really don't know a lot about the names of the colours

and said about the discussions on the site about reds

the judge said don't worry about that

A LOT OF EXPERIENCED fanciers

DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT

WHEN IT COMES TO COLOUR OF BIRDS

we all know that to be true

a part from the likes of OLD YELLOW

who IS THE MAN when it comes to colour

now I'm not one to be mixing or winding  

so lets see ALL our experienced fanciers

called these two birds

I would call them a chocolate and a yellow, but since i have gone into the fancy breeds i have heard fanciers giving them as reds & champagne pluss others

for what its worth,, i would say first one a yellow,, second one a chocolate ,, but have heard of show pigeon keepers,and show ,, naming these colours different

Both recessive red. the lighter one has dilute mutation which cuts the pigmentation by approx. half. Chocolate birds are from the brown tint not red. Some people call these dark reds mahogany. Look like oriental rollers.
