micko and jack Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 gangster spoke to the judges 2 of them about the colour of these two bird I was listening as I really don't know a lot about the names of the colours and said about the discussions on the site about reds the judge said don't worry about that A LOT OF EXPERIENCED fanciers DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT WHEN IT COMES TO COLOUR OF BIRDS we all know that to be true a part from the likes of OLD YELLOW who IS THE MAN when it comes to colour now I'm not one to be mixing or winding so lets see ALL our experienced fanciers called these two birds

Mick threw you all a curved ball with his post just goes to show the judges were right a lot of fanciers DON'T know their colours judges said BOTH BIRDS ARE REDS as i said i dont know but Mick was doing ALL the talking

Guest Freebird Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Both recessive red. the lighter one has dilute mutation which cuts the pigmentation by approx. half. Chocolate birds are from the brown tint not red. Some people call these dark reds mahogany. Look like oriental rollers.
