REDCHEQHEN Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 Didn't someone put on here that the NWHU rings were bigger ? I had trouble this year getting rings on youngsters - I know the NEHU has gone to a different supplier this year though I don't know whether that will make a difference with the size
Guest MBpigeonguy Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 i had a lot of problems with bands too. putting them on after 9 days was impassible, i have lots of Canadian bands that go back 10 years and most years they are really small like 2000 2001 2002 but the next two years were a bit bigger, now they are really big,. i even have one of those aluminum bands form years ago! i couldn't imagine putting them on by birds, one of my 10 year old hens has one aluminum band on her, with the name of her breeder, hes dead now,
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 hello to all is it me or is the rings gettng smaller if so what can we do about it? having to cut rings off young stock this can't be right we have had this problem as well this year, we had to cut the ring off a good stock racing pigeon which really does not matter anyway now and one off a cracking showracer which did matter :'(
pjc Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 the biggest problem with the rings is the depth and not the diameter. The old rings were the same diameter but being shallower they could move up and down the leg preventing a build up of skin, dust etc behind the ring. The deep rings can only turn and dust, skin etc builds up under the ring making it tight then the leg swells! Phil
Guest Vic Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 What is getting thicker? The legs or the dregs.lol.
