jakjak Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 I will be having a young bird sale in 2009. This will be to raise money for my club. We usually have fund raisers of 'some sort', but this year we need to raise a decent amount. Especially as we have a pigeon loft at the local school which the club pay to run. We recieve no school funding. And we have 10 to 12 kids very interested in pigeon racing! The idea is to get youngsters donated from TOP fanciers, even if it is 1 youngster. Thankfully we have had a great response locally, but I would like a few pigeons donated from across the UK. I have approached a few fanciers on this site, and am still awaiting replies. Still gotta ask 'Gangster' tho, but i am sure he will help!! ;D ;D Chris at Vallance Lofts has helped. cheers! I am sure there is excellent fanciers on here who I do not know. If you wish to help please contact me. Also there maybe fanciers who could help but are not PB members. If you know anyone please send these guys my way!! Contact me via PM or Tel: 01536 398814

jakjak Posted December 6, 2008 Author Report Posted December 6, 2008 Huge thanks to those guys who have offered their support so far. you are a credit to the sport! Especially from north of the border..........who said the scots are 'tight'!!!!!!????? LOL;D ;D
ally mac Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 I am planning to have a yb race or 2 this year to raise funds for the local primary school. for their trips etc. I thought if I am training birds fro Glasgow or wherever they might as well be earning some money for a good cause.
Roland Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Was one like I said close by. That was at Walgrave school till the new head master had it removed. This must be similiar, a pigeon club that is looking after a loft set up for a school! So yes I can see where the need is for raising monies to cover costs. Great the members are doing it... but surely a little back to cover their out lay is in order? !

Contact me via PM or Tel: 01536 398814 By the way, we have had our pigeon loft at the local school for over a year. And one of our club members attends the loft every day to make sure the kids are doing their duties. And to generate more interest my club entered the Europa classic 2008 as Harrowden school. (unfortunately europa kept spelling name wrong, and we were called Howden school. we got 3 birds to last race, but we all know wot happened next.) we also intend to buy a new marking shed with large opening doors so we dont get wet at marking. our current shed is ready for Nov 5th!!
