all i thought was with the pigeon basics stand why not try for a show at the same stand ?

 

 

This the chance to see you guys in Jan. 2009 at the Blackpool Show. I have been practicing makin' nest / perch boxes for my small pigeon fancier shop. Here is one of the boxes that i have made.

I think there is more to having a show as such as we think, I am sure there is\ RPRA rules etc for holding shows, anyone entering would have to be the registered owner etc so a member of a recognised union, also DEFRA, and I dont think it would be cheap to get a venue anywhere , would be nice  but as said not as easy as we think. and would it be show birds or racing birds

anybody staying there for the weekend isn't going to want to have to keep birds there all weekend for a show 1 evening.

If you do find a venue etc, i'll offer to be a judge.

But that is what happens at the main event or the studs who sell them, the pens are sealed till Sunday about 4 oclock :-/

can you not have a photo show each member put one in and get judged

this is very true, especialy at this late time,, so near to blackpool time , but could be thought about for next year,,

yes that could be possible chris [an independant judge]  as it was a little fun at the time ,, but caused a fair bad doo , especially for the webmaster

select one member to do it someone who does not want to show then put birds up on one thread without nonsense just photo with num of post let him judge at end of week job done no problems i will judge and be happy to cos im crap at putting photos on say birds on up till thurs night then fri night result

Really i thought Pigeon Basics Holding a Pigeon Moot at the show would have been a grand idea, would have been a good get together for the fanciers of the site, and also very informative, especially with some of the class fanciers we have on the site, However im sure Tony C mentioned this before and it got brushed to the side

a moot would be a better idea as many hotels have rooms usualy used for conferences that could be used and if central with an open bar i'm sure it would be a good evening!

Go ahead with a moot at Blackpool by all means,bringing birds to Blackpool is a no no for many stated reasons,elect three judges from basics,have an online show,different classes 50 pence per entry,with proceeds 50/50 to Phoebe and Basics,bit of fun,supporting good causes.

what about birds bought at show by members i am sure we all come away with something, take them to stand to be marked out of 10 over the sat & sun then winner put on here monday.
