Guest challengerlofts Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 com on lads and lasses have your say if not at blackpool we will have a venenue for all of us all i thought was with the pigeon basics stand why not try for a show at the same stand ? This the chance to see you guys in Jan. 2009 at the Blackpool Show. I have been practicing makin' nest / perch boxes for my small pigeon fancier shop. Here is one of the boxes that i have made.
THE FIFER Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 I think there is more to having a show as such as we think, I am sure there is\ RPRA rules etc for holding shows, anyone entering would have to be the registered owner etc so a member of a recognised union, also DEFRA, and I dont think it would be cheap to get a venue anywhere , would be nice but as said not as easy as we think. and would it be show birds or racing birds
DOVEScot Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 anybody staying there for the weekend isn't going to want to have to keep birds there all weekend for a show 1 evening. If you do find a venue etc, i'll offer to be a judge. Phil But that is what happens at the main event or the studs who sell them, the pens are sealed till Sunday about 4 oclock :-/

jimmy white Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 can you not have a photo show each member put one in and get judged we did this ,, but found the poll to be unfair
ChrisMaidment08 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 if photos put on and one member judges it cant be unfair

jimmy white Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 if photos put on and one member judges it cant be unfair yes that could be possible chris [an independant judge] as it was a little fun at the time ,, but caused a fair bad doo , especially for the webmaster
ChrisMaidment08 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 select one member to do it someone who does not want to show then put birds up on one thread without nonsense just photo with num of post let him judge at end of week job done no problems i will judge and be happy to cos im crap at putting photos on say birds on up till thurs night then fri night result

DOVEScot Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Who would want to take pigeons to Blackpool and not put them in the big show anyway?? :-/ :-/ True if you are taking that far and getting them ready why not :-/
micko and jack Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 CHAIRDE FRIENDS I think it a great idea with the credit crunch WE need all your money come to Belfast support local fanciers plough your money into our local hotels and bars NO NO NO its coming to Christmas you all need your money and after all you are friends check Jacks pics of his fantails we would entering yap your right it would be a waste of time entering your birds after seeing jacks hahahaaaa a part from chickadee that is JOKING A SIDE I do think it a good idea a chance to make some money for the running of the site but as stated by others NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT CLOSER Belfast makes a great venue and for all you females members I promise jack will be there lol
Wiley Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Really i thought Pigeon Basics Holding a Pigeon Moot at the show would have been a grand idea, would have been a good get together for the fanciers of the site, and also very informative, especially with some of the class fanciers we have on the site, However im sure Tony C mentioned this before and it got brushed to the side
pjc Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 a moot would be a better idea as many hotels have rooms usualy used for conferences that could be used and if central with an open bar i'm sure it would be a good evening! Phil
Merlin Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Go ahead with a moot at Blackpool by all means, bringing birds to Blackpool is a no no for many stated reasons, elect three judges from basics, have an online show, different classes 50 pence per entry, with proceeds 50/50 to Phoebe and Basics, bit of fun, supporting good causes.
kirky Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 what about birds bought at show by members i am sure we all come away with something, take them to stand to be marked out of 10 over the sat & sun then winner put on here monday.
