Buy from the farms as much as you can, its only way to get the message across to the dealers!

I haven't bought any for a while

Dicky Darky - name some farms where I can get some straights

between Whitby and 20 miles South of Sunderland (Sunderland is too far (evil))

I have to travel about 30 miles to get mine, far side of Durham. Beans, Wheat and Barley, about 4 quid a bag last time i was there. Will be due another visit shortly.

shouldn't be vat on straight feeds....not sure about mixes. even so the vat cut would only mean 25p off a bag costing £10. imported grains from europe will cost more soon as the £ weakens against the euro. i only buy straights wheat /barley £4. beans £7. both 25kg . i get maples off merchant £13/20kg (versle laga ). depending on the mix it costs about £ 7/week to feed my 30 pairs. i do buy proper mixes for ybs..i reckon ybs eat about 1kg / month once grown so large yb teams could come costly. i hopper feed everything all year round.

They are probably using that corn to make eathanol thats what is happening here they turn it into gas instead of feed and the price goes up

Pigeon corn is usually non VAT-able anyway. So the reduction in VAT makes no difference. Whilst Wheat and Barley prices have come down, many other straights are in such short supply the price continues to increase.

Speciality Crops such as sunflower, canary, pulses, millet and safflower are all at higher prices due to the direct effect of the currency.

This coupled with transport costs, which although fuel has dropped in price, haulage companies have not reduced their costs in general.

So this is why in my opinion, the corn manufacturers are still increasing their prices.
