DAVIDL Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 hi, been asked by friend who is not a member of this site to circulate this information to other fanciers, this is his message to me....... Hi is me again with trouble. I ordered some pigeons from a seller in the bird trader which came to £277.00, for high quality show pigeons. On arrival, by the courier I checked them, and found they were not at all what I had asked for they were cross no rings and that he would have to return them. The seller refused to answer the phone or texts. They arrived in completely inappropriate boxes, covered in duct tape, urine sodden with food thrown in. I have photographed this as evidence. I also believe that he is operating under another name now. I thought that you should know before he does this to someone else. I did not take delivery of the birds and they went back with the courier. I was concerned about the state and would not have been able to put them with my existing birds. This scammer is from Somerset gave the courier a different name and address in Bristol and then arranged with the courier to meet with them in front of a pub called the George in Bristol. He advertised Kings, Modena, Fairy swallows jacobins Dutch tumblers in his ad. So please circulate this information to everyone you know in the pigeon world, please to make them aware of this dangerous scam. Copy & paste my page and circulate on other websites, as I am only a member here at the moment. regards mo. maybe might help other fanciers to not get conned.....or any info would be good, thanks.

Guest Vic Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 There's some crap in the game these days, Ain't there? I remember driving up to Whitehaven, during the winter, 40 years ago, to donate a pair of ybs in aid of charity, having been approached by a Mr Bell who was the organiser. Being an inexperienced driver at the time, we went via Carlisle. (Missing the vital turn off at Penrith) Which was a good experience all round, including the snowy conditions we encountered on that unforgetable Saturday morning, that seems like yesterday. LOL. Vic.
Guest asha Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Blame the curior, cowboys who were they, name them on here now, they had no right to take buiness of the side of the road,no rights excepting livestock in poor boxes, they have broken many basic transportation rules, and would have their licence took away for misconduct, you have lost your money anyway, make the courier pay, report them to RPRA,DEFRA,vosa, they will have to pay,or risk getting closed down, cowboy firms are always the problem.
pjc Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 i wouldn't touch anything on bird trader, there are a lot of scams conducted through that site as well as being charged premium rate when you ring to make an enquiry!
DAVIDL Posted December 21, 2008 Author Report Posted December 21, 2008 hi thanks for all your imput...this is an updated message my friend sent me; regards mo. For your information his name is Mudasar Hayat. address 28 Halbrow Crescent, Somerset BS16 2NF Phone no. 07830785 708. He also stopped the courier on the way, changing the pick up point which was atthe address 51 Charlton Road, Kingswood Bristol BS15 1ly, and asked him to collect birds outside of a pub. The woman spoke on the phone in posh accent saying the butler would be handing them over her name was Anna. He turned up with another woman that may have been of Asian origin. He advertises in the OODLE.com website selling fairy swallow exhibition standard. I managed to get him off 2 websites, bird trader and The Fridays ads, but cannot with oodle. Hope this helps others, regards mo. hope this is of interest to others, and maybe stop him conning another fancier... thanks david.
PigeonTracker Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 Blame the curior, cowboys who were they, name them on here now, they had no right to take buiness of the side of the road,no rights excepting livestock in poor boxes, they have broken many basic transportation rules, and would have their licence took away for misconduct, you have lost your money anyway, make the courier pay, report them to RPRA,DEFRA,vosa, they will have to pay,or risk getting closed down, cowboy firms are always the problem. I have to agree on this one even though the seller is the con artist. No courier with knowledge would have taken birds in such a state. I know I've come across customers who've had no choice but to box the birds in wine boxes because they wanted to get them ready for pick up and would be in work but it takes seconds to rebox the birds in more suitable ones and that's what the courier in this instance should have done. I'm glad the seller was named and doing a lot of custom down that way we'll be looking out for him/her although I suspect they've taken advantage of a courier who doesn't know too much about transporting anything let alone birds.
PigeonTracker Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 I wouldnt have personally had him took off these sites, I would have boxed clever and got a friend to order one, then called him acting as the coursier then getting the chance to meet face to face etc, now he will no doubt crawl under a rock and be in hiding for several months Someone set him up with my company, I'll guarantee he'll be take to task on it. >
pjc Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 DavidL, now we have got the details of the vendor/conn man the only thing omitted from the story is who the courier was! They should be named and shamed as well! Phil
